Senior Project Officer

• Temporary (up to 31 August 2027) full-time opportunity (with the possibility of extension)
• Office location: Parramatta, with the potential for other locations across NSW. Hybrid working arrangements are supported.
• Salary relative to experience, and ranges from $138,454 to $152,686 p.a. + super

Our Executive Support Conservation Programs team is currently seeking to appoint a Senior Project Officer role to support the Conservation Programs Division, providing robust financial management and forecasting, and assisting in strategic coordination, planning and business management support.

Working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, you will partner closely with senior leaders to drive divisional priorities, managing business functions including budget oversight, workforce planning and performance monitoring, and coordinating high-profile projects.

You will be responsible for ensuring the timely delivery of executive briefings, correspondence and strategic initiatives, while proactively identifying and responding to emerging issues. This role requires strong stakeholder engagement skills, sound judgement and the ability to navigate complex organisational priorities to support informed decision-making and successful outcomes.

You are experienced in financial management and reporting, with extensive knowledge of government protocols, strategic planning, and project governance. You are experienced in supporting senior executives and leading complex business, governance or project coordination functions. You thrive in a fast-paced environment, can manage competing priorities and have a proven ability to deliver high-quality outcomes under tight timeframes.

You bring strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience in strategic planning, performance reporting, financial management and organisational coordination. A confident communicator, you build effective relationships across diverse stakeholder groups and can distil complex information into clear, actionable advice.

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:

• Strong financial and resource management capabilities, including budget monitoring and reporting.
• Experience coordinating complex projects, programs or business operations within a large organisation.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience preparing executive-level briefings, reports and correspondence.
• Sound judgement, resilience and the ability to manage sensitive or high-profile issues with discretion.
• A collaborative leadership style, with experience supporting and developing staff to achieve business outcomes.
• Strong strategic thinking skills, with the ability to analyse information, identify risks and implement practical solutions.
