- Salary relative to experience, and ranges from $138,454 to $152,686 p.a. + super
Our Conservation Planning and Offsets Division is looking for a Senior Project Officer to help deliver biodiversity offset programs, including a scheme that accredits conservation brokers. This role will help ensure the Biodiversity Offsets Scheme meets its legal requirements and operates with integrity.
The role requires strong project management and stakeholder engagement skills, sound judgement, and the ability to balance competing priorities to support good decisions and successful outcomes. In the role, you will work closely with senior leaders and across teams to design, implement, and improve programs. You will support implementation by developing operational tools, policies, and procedures.
You have tertiary qualifications related to environmental science, environmental management, ecology or environmental economics and/or demonstrated equivalent experience.
You are experienced working in the Biodiversity Offsets Scheme or similar environmental markets and understand probity and conflict management issues in broking.
You can manage competing priorities and have a proven ability to deliver high-quality outcomes under tight timeframes.
You bring strong leadership, project management, analytical and problem-solving skills. A confident communicator, you build effective relationships with stakeholders and can distil complex information into clear, actionable advice.
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:
- Experience leading complex collaborative projects, programs or business operations within a large organisation.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience preparing reports, correspondence and operational guidelines, policies and procedures.
- Sound judgement, and the ability to identify and assess ethical and conflict of interest issues to avoid and address misconduct.
- Capacity to motivate, support and develop staff to achieve business outcomes and personal goals.
- Strong strategic thinking skills, with the ability to analyse information, identify risks and implement practical solutions.
