Responsibilities
Assists in the development and management of the Department of Water's annual\r\ncapital budget with sources and uses, the ten-year capital improvement program, the annual capital\r\nappropriation budget and the daily management of capital funds. Performs administrative duties associated\r\nwith the daily management of construction and service contracts which includes assisting with contract\r\nagreements, preparing City Manager's reports for contract award, processing contract change orders (or\r\namendments) and coordinating with project managers on proper procedures. The incumbent ensures timely\r\npayments are made to consultants/contractors, resolves payment issues and manages the financial portions of\r\nthe contracts to make sure that all changes are properly accounted for and funded. The Water Contracts\r\nAdministrator is also accountable for the financial management of any grant funds acquired by the Department\r\nof Water. This includes compliance with all of the grant requirements and reporting of funds. Must be able to\r\nwork closely with all bureaus in the Division of Water as well as all levels of the City organization to complete\r\nassigned tasks.\r\n
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or other closely related field AND 3\r\nyears of experience in the areas of budgeting, accounting, financial reporting, or auditing. Must have\r\nmanagement level experience in grants and capital projects.\r\n\r\n\r\nDegree must be from a college or university that\r\nis accredited by the U.S. Department of Education through the North Central Association of Colleges and\r\nUniversities or equivalent region.\r\n\r\n
License Requirements
Must have a valid driver's license at time of appointment and maintain as a condition of employment.\r\n
