They also represent parents in abuse and\r\nneglect proceeding in the Family Court, helping protect the fundamental rights\r\nof families and ensuring parents have a meaningful voice when facing\r\nlife-altering decisions. Summary Statement
The\r\nOffice of Defense Services seeks a highly motivated, organized, and\r\nenthusiastic entry level Legal Administrative Specialist to fill a casual\r\nseasonal role within\r\nKent County office. This position will provide\r\nassigned Court and Assistant Public Defender’s with the necessary legal and\r\nadministrative support in providing quality, constitutionally mandated,\r\nindigent defense services. �In addition\r\nto this, the position will provide receptionist services for the office.�\r\n
Essential Functions
Essential functions are fundamental, core functions common\r\nto all positions in the class series and are not intended to be an exhaustive\r\nlist of all job duties for any one position in the class:\r\n\r\n Establishes\r\n and maintains case files.\r\n Reviews\r\n legal/court documents for completeness and accuracy.\r\n Compiles\r\n and evaluates facts to complete program, legal, and/or court documents.\r\n Provides\r\n administrative reports and recommendations for new/revised operating\r\n policies/procedures.\r\n Greets visitors, clients, and other guests, ensuring adherence to the office’s safety and professionalism expectations.\r\n Receiving/transferring incoming phone calls�\r\n Review’s\r\n state and federal codes, laws, rules, regulations, policies, and\r\n procedures to ensure compliance of legal actions/processes.\r\n Data\r\n entry into various software programs, particularly in support of the\r\n agencies Family Court cases and clients\r\n Additional\r\n duties may be assigned.\r\n\r\n
Job Requirements
�\r\nApplicants must have education, training and/or experience\r\ndemonstrating competence in each of the following areas:\r\n\r\n One\r\n year of experience in coordinating office activities such as\r\n planning/coordinating meetings or conferences; tracking workflow and\r\n follow up; composing meeting notes; directing clients/customers;\r\n explaining services to the public and customers/clients; establishing or\r\n maintaining filing/record systems.\r\n One\r\n year of experience in document processing which includes reviewing and\r\n evaluating records for completeness and conformity with laws, rules,\r\n regulations, standards, policies and procedures, resolve deficiencies,\r\n interpret information, and track and monitor activities.\r\n One\r\n year of experience in using standard computer software programs for word\r\n processing, spreadsheets or databases.\r\n Six\r\n months experience in using an automated information system to enter,\r\n update, modify, delete, retrieve/inquire and report on data.\r\n Knowledge\r\n of legal terminology.������� \r\n\r\nOR\r\n�\r\n\r\n Possession\r\n of an associate's degree or higher.�\r\n Knowledge\r\n of legal terminology.\r\n\r\n�\r\n
