• Based at either our Melbourne or Geelong campuses + hybrid work arrangements

• HEW 9 $143,627 - $152,229 + 17% Superannuation

The Lead, University Rankings is a senior position within Deakin’s central Analytics and Insights function, responsible for providing strategic leadership and coordination of the University’s rankings agenda. Working in partnership with stakeholders across the University, the role leads the development and implementation of a coordinated, enterprise-wide approach to rankings performance that is aligned with Deakin’s strategic objectives and supports sustainable institutional impact. This role serves as the advisor on global rankings performance, methodologies and strategic positioning. Further, this role provides expert interpretation of complex and evolving rankings frameworks, translating external methodologies into actionable institutional insights and recommendations.

• Lead the University’s rankings strategy and agenda, ensuring a coordinated, enterprise-wide approach aligned with Deakin’s strategic objectives.
• Interpret complex and evolving methodologies and translate them into actionable insights and recommendations for senior leaders.
• Establish governance frameworks and consistent practices for rankings activity.
• Lead cross-functional engagement, capability building and collaborate with stakeholders across the University to generate insights that drive decision-making.                                                                       

• Postgraduate qualifications and extensive relevant experience; or equivalent combination of experience and/or education/training.
• Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders and inform strategic decisions.
• Understanding of governance, policy and organisational context.
• Highly desired: Robust knowledge of and experience in the higher education sector
• Highly desired: Demonstrated experience in/knowledge of global university rankings systems, methodologies, benchmarking and performance analysis.
