Deakin Residential Services (DRS) currently manages roughly 3000 student beds across multiple campuses and  provides innovative and outstanding accommodation for students, staff, school groups, and families at Deakin's Burwood, Waterfront, Waurn Ponds and Warrnambool campuses; our role within the university is to promote the delivery of a positive student experience.

 

  • Contribute to the development and ongoing review of preventative, reactive and cyclic maintenance program.
  • Create practical, simple and accessible solutions to problems after considering multiple perspectives.
  • Consult with available sources to gather relevant information and seek the expertise and advice of other people as appropriate.
  • Proactively engage in process improvement activities and adopt new ideas, approaches and changes to work practices.
  • Understand local processes, prepare standard documents, manage records, regularly track progress of work tasks and identify key issues.

 

  • Broad experience carrying out general facility maintenance tasks including minor repairs, fitting and equipment replacement in both old and new buildings.
  • Computer skills in MS office, Outlook/Emails and similar general computer applications.
  • Current trade or building qualifications or relevant applicable experience.
  • Strong interpersonal skills; able to coach, guide and support team members as needed.
