In this fully onsite role reporting to the Chief Operations Officer, you will be responsible for leading and optimizing daily print facility operations, overseeing production schedules, strengthening vendor partnerships, and ensuring the highest level of product quality. This role is ideal for you if you are capable of being both hands-on and think strategically, have high emotional intelligence, are data-driven in your approach, and are a proactive problem solver.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Lead, coach, and mentor a high-performing, highly engaged team which may span multiple groups and include managers and senior managers
- →Create and own workforce plans, including staffing strategy that onboards and retains exceptional talent
- →Develop and communicate departmental goals and strategy and facilitate goal planning for the team
- →Adopt and reinforce company policies, processes, and programs
- →Ensure adherence with the company’s performance management and development process
- →Assist in the creation of a culture that emphasizes strategy, guiding principles, and core values
- →Communicate effectively & regularly with team members, peers, and leaders
- →Establish and manage budget for assigned group
- →Communicate financial and goal results, and KPIs to direct reports
- →Effectively engage with internal and external stakeholders at all levels
- →Drive utilization across the team and manage to an established workforce plan
- →Assist in the improvement of business processes and system functionality, using change management best practices
- →Other projects and duties as assigned.
- Manage, influence, recognize, motivate, coach, and develop a strong team of manufacturing employees
- Proven ability to manage through conflict
- Drive strategic alignment on priorities in close partnership with senior leadership
- Confident and decisive, with a strong sense of ownership and commitment to shared goals
- Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal
- Ability to simplify complex topics and communicate clearly to diverse audiences
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the organization, working collaboratively as well as autonomously
- Strong problem‑solving skills, with the ability to clearly communicate findings to the team
- Ability to handle multiple priorities while meeting specific deadlines
- Highly detail‑oriented, with a focus on accuracy and follow‑through
- Ability to understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies, and procedures
- Proactive self‑starter with a strong ability to learn quickly and take initiative
- Flexible and adaptable, able to thrive in evolving environments
- Demonstrated readiness to take on challenging assignments and stretch opportunities
Requirements
~1 min read- 5-10 years managing a team in a production environment including involvement with facility maintenance, safety adherence, and quality control.
- Bachelor’s degree in related field. Equivalent work experience in a relevant environment may be considered.
- General knowledge of HR practices, labour laws, and health & safety requirements in British Columbia
- Ability to work in a high pressure, deadline-oriented environment
- Occasional overtime/weekend work required with the ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for extended periods of time, and tolerate exposure to loud noises and vibrations.
