Headquartered in New York City with regional offices across the country, Doyle presents auctions throughout the year that attract a global base of buyers and consignors. Doyle has built a reputation for achieving outstanding prices at auction, and our focus on individual attention to our clients remains paramount.

About the role:

Doyle Auctioneers & Appraisers is seeking a full-time Finance & Accounting Analyst to join our New York team. Doyle is a respected auction house with a long-standing presence in the fine art and collectibles market, known for its expertise and collaborative culture.

This role is designed for a recent graduate who is eager to build a strong foundation in finance and accounting. You will support core accounting operations—including accounts payable, financial reporting, and auction-related processes—while gaining hands-on exposure to a dynamic, transaction-driven business.

We are looking for someone with strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and a proactive mindset—someone who is not only eager to learn, but also interested in improving how work gets done. An interest in fine art, collectibles, and the auction business will help you thrive in this environment and engage more deeply with the work.

The role also offers opportunities to work with modern tools, including AI and automation, to enhance efficiency and organization across financial processes.

This is a full-time, in-office position offering competitive compensation and a comprehensive benefits package.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in maintaining general ledger accuracy, including coding and reconciliation support
  • Support month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries and account reconciliations
  • Provide support for internal and external audits, including documentation and reporting preparation
  • Manage consignor accounts payable, including processing payments via check and bank transfer
  • Review and verify payments against invoices, contracts, and supporting documentation
  • Assist in financial analysis and reporting, including tracking key metrics and identifying variances
  • Use AI tools and emerging technologies to organize, analyze, and present financial data more efficiently
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes and contribute to workflow enhancements over time
  • Support sale-day financial operations and collaborate with cross-functional teams

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required
  • Foundational understanding of accounting principles (accounts payable, general ledger basics)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with sound judgment
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
  • Demonstrated initiative and willingness to learn new tools and systems
  • Interest or exposure to AI tools, automation, or data analysis is a plus

Key Competencies:

  • Analytical thinking and sound judgment
  • Curiosity and continuous learning mindset
  • Ownership and accountability
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Collaboration and communication

What This Role Offers:

  • A strong foundation in finance and accounting within a respected, established organization
  • Hands-on experience with real transactions and operational processes
  • Exposure to modern tools, including AI and process improvement initiatives
  • A collaborative, team-oriented environment with opportunities for growth and development
