Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Validate exchange rebate invoices from exchanges and brokers for accuracy against fee schedules, trade activity, and contractual terms.
- →Investigate and resolve discrepancies, working with exchanges, brokers, and internal stakeholders to obtain corrected invoices or adjustments as needed.
- →Collaborate with Accounts Payable to ensure timely and accurate payment of exchange and brokerage invoices, including proper coding, approval workflows, and payment reconciliations.
- →Partner with Accounting to ensure all spend is properly accounted for in the general ledger.
- →Analyze fee trends, rebate programs, and cost-saving opportunities; prepare management-friendly reports and dashboards; drive data-driven process improvements.
- →Work with Operations to ensure fee and rebates are appropriately captured in back office systems ensuring clean reconciliations with banks and brokers.
- →Own accrual reconciliation process while working to enhance completeness and accuracy.
- →Act as a subject matter expert for exchange rebate programs. Prepare fee reporting by product and exchange. Analyze fee trends, rebate programs; address ad-hoc request for information to management.
- →Collaborate on cross-functional projects to optimize end-to-end trade lifecycle processes and control environments.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
- 7-10+ years of previous experience working in trading firms, prime brokerage, hedge funds, or other similar asset management firms preferred
- Strong organization skills and detail orientation, with ability to prioritize, multitask and effectively
- Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills; demonstrated ability to identify issues, assess options, and implement solutions.
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, index/match, dashboards).
- Familiarity with accounting processes (AP, GL, month-end close) and internal control frameworks.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills; proven ability to work with cross-functional teams (AP, Accounting, Operations, Front Office).
The annual base salary range for this position is $120,000 to $150,000 depending on the candidate’s experience, qualifications, and relevant skill set. The position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus.
