Head of Security Operations Mexico

## About this Opportunity Ericsson is seeking an experienced and highly accomplished Head of Security Operations, Mexico to lead security operations and resilience programs across one of the company's most strategically important markets. Reporting within the Americas Security organization, this role is responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive security strategy that protects Ericsson's employees, contractors, assets, facilities, field operations, information, and business activities throughout Mexico. The successful candidate will provide strategic leadership for operational security, investigations, crisis management, business continuity, intelligence, and risk management initiatives while serving as a trusted advisor to business leaders and regional stakeholders. A key focus of the role is ensuring the safety and security of field personnel and contractors operating in complex and higher-risk environments, enabling Ericsson to deliver on its business objectives while effectively managing security risks. This position requires a seasoned security executive with extensive experience leading multidisciplinary security teams, managing complex security programs, and influencing stakeholders across global organizations. This role will report to the Head of Security Americas and will be based in Mexico City. ## What You Will Do * Lead Ericsson's security operations strategy and execution across Mexico, ensuring alignment with regional and global security objectives. * Direct and develop a team of security managers, analysts, and security professionals while fostering a culture of accountability, resilience, and continuous improvement. * Oversee all aspects of physical security operations, including access control, facility security, guard force management, investigations, security technology, executive protection support, and asset protection. * Conduct enterprise security risk assessments and implement mitigation plans to protect employees, contractors, facilities, critical infrastructure, and business operations. * Lead security support for field operations, including contractor risk assessments, travel security, operational security planning, and protective measures for personnel operating in elevated-risk environments. * Coordinate and manage responses to security incidents, ensuring timely investigation, reporting, corrective actions, and lessons learned. * Lead crisis management, emergency response, and business continuity activities, providing executive-level leadership during significant incidents and disruptions. * Partner with business leaders to integrate security considerations into operational planning and decision-making processes. * Collaborate with regional and global security organizations to develop policies, standards, governance frameworks, and security technologies that strengthen Ericsson's overall security posture. * Ensure security risks are effectively represented within Ericsson's Enterprise Risk Management processes and strategic business initiatives. * Maintain situational awareness of the security environment throughout Mexico and provide intelligence-driven assessments regarding criminal activity, civil unrest, geopolitical developments, organized crime, natural disasters, and emerging threats. * Build and maintain strong relationships with law enforcement agencies, government authorities, emergency responders, telecommunications industry partners, and private-sector security organizations. * Drive continuous improvement of security technologies, monitoring systems, reporting capabilities, and AI-enabled security risk assessment tools. * Oversee compliance activities, security audits, and program governance to ensure adherence to Ericsson policies and regulatory requirements. * Support executive protection, executive travel security, and special security initiatives when required. * Provide executive leadership with regular reporting and strategic insights regarding security risks, trends, incidents, and program performance. ## The Skills You Bring Experience & Education * Bachelor's degree in Security Management, Risk Management, Information Security, Cybersecurity, Criminal Justice, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience. * 10+ years of progressive experience in Corporate Security, Security Operations, Risk Management, Intelligence, Investigations, Military, Law Enforcement, or related security leadership roles. * Demonstrated experience leading security programs within large, complex, multinational organizations. * Proven track record developing and implementing enterprise security strategies across multiple sites and geographically dispersed operations. Security Expertise * Extensive knowledge of physical security, personnel security, operational security, investigations, executive protection, crisis management, and business continuity disciplines. * Significant experience leading security incident response and complex investigations. * Strong understanding of security risk assessment methodologies and mitigation strategies. * Experience managing security risks associated with field operations, contractor oversight, logistics activities, and high-risk operational environments. * Familiarity with modern security technologies, intelligence platforms, analytics solutions, and AI-enabled risk assessment capabilities. * Experience integrating security programs within broader enterprise risk management frameworks. Leadership Competencies * Demonstrated success leading and developing high-performing security teams and security service providers. * Exceptional stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence senior executives and lead initiatives across organizations without direct authority. * Strong business acumen and ability to align security programs with organizational objectives. * Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate complex security matters in clear business-focused language. * Proven ability to operate effectively in fast-paced and dynamic environments while balancing strategic priorities and operational requirements Preferred Qualifications * Professional certifications such as CPP, PSP, PCI, CISSP, CISM, CBCP, or related security and risk management credentials. * Experience working with law enforcement, intelligence agencies, government authorities, and public-private security partnerships. * Experience supporting multinational operations throughout Latin America. * Valid passport and ability to travel domestically and internationally as required. * Fluent in English and Spanish, both written and verbal.
