About the role:  
 
Reporting to the Manager, Aquatic Sciences, the Senior Supervisor, Water Resources & Human Health is responsible for overseeing technical programs and strategic planning across regional groundwater, surface water, and human health risk assessment scopes, ensuring regulatory compliance, effective data collection and management, and meaningful internal and external engagement. The Senior Supervisor, Water Resources & Human Health plays a critical leadership role in Elk Valley Resources’ environmental programs.

  • Participate in and adhere to health and safety programs and policies
  • Supervise implementation of regional groundwater and surface water quality monitoring programs, integration with operations, and inform management of trends, risks, challenges, and opportunities
  • Manage regional human health risk assessments, including integration across technical inputs and external engagement
  • Ensure regulatory compliance, including timely and accurate data submissions, uploads, and reporting
  • Manage data systems and internal data flow, ensuring relevant teams receive actionable information
  • Lead a team of technical staff, fostering a culture of excellence, ownership, and collaboration
  • Develop and oversee large budgets, manage competing deliverables, and ensure timely execution of complex projects
  • Manage development and delivery of large-scale reporting requirements
  • Represent EVR in key multi-agency forums, including the Groundwater Working Group, Human Health Risk Assessment Working Group, and Environmental Monitoring Committee
  • Collaborate with operations and regional teams to support planning, permitting, and other core business needs
  • Drive strategic planning across water resources and human health files, with a focus on long-term outcomes and positioning EVR for success over the next five years
  • Degree in Hydrogeology, Geoscience, or a related field; advanced degree preferred
  • 10+ years of industry experience, with a focus on mining and mountainous hydrogeological systems
  • Proven experience leading internal and external technical teams
  • Strong understanding of groundwater and surface water systems, human health risk assessment, and environmental monitoring frameworks
  • Working knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance processes related to water and health in mining contexts
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage confidently with stakeholders, rights holders, regulators, and internal teams
  • Demonstrated success in project management, budget oversight, and delivering complex technical reports
  • Strategic thinker with experience in long-term planning and cross-functional collaboration
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License or equivalent
