As a Lead CFX Artist, you will be responsible for leading a team of CFX artists, ensuring the successful delivery of high-quality character effects, including cloth, hair, groom and muscle simulations for various projects while collaborating with the show supervision team to ensure delivery schedules are achieved.

This role requires a strong understanding of the visual effects pipeline, excellent technical and artistic skills, and the ability to mentor and guide junior artists.

Lead and manage a team of CFX artists, providing guidance, feedback, and technical support

Oversee the development of CFX assets and executions, including cloth, hair, muscles and groom, ensuring they meet artistic and technical requirements

Develop and implement efficient CFX workflows and tools to optimize production

Collaborate closely with various departments, including animation, modeling, rigging, and lighting, to ensure seamless integration of CFX elements into the pipeline

Collaborate with CFX Department Supervisor/s and Show Supervisor/s to maintain a high standard of quality and consistency across all CFX assets in the project

Troubleshoot and problem-solve complex CFX issues

Mentor and train junior CFX artists, fostering their growth and development

Participate in bidding and scheduling discussions as needed

Ensure that all CFX work adheres to project deadlines and budget constraints

Contribute to the development of departmental best practices and documentation

Bachelor's degree in Computer Graphics, Animation, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience

Minimum four (4) years of CFX simulation experience in live-action visual effects for feature films, episodic or similar production environments with a strong portfolio showcasing a range of character effects work

Proven experience in a leadership or supervisory role

Expert proficiency in industry-standard software such as Maya and Houdini are required

Strong understanding of anatomical deformation, cloth and hair dynamics, and simulation principles

Excellent understanding of visual effects pipelines and production workflows

Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines

Excellent communication, interpersonal and leadership skills

Exceptional problem-solving and troubleshooting skills

Strong artistic eye and attention to details

Excellent organizational skills

Ability to take direction and constructive criticism

Familiarity with scripting languages is a plus (Python, VEX).Experience with rigging and character setup is a plus

Experience in CG Grooming is a plus (Xgen/Houdini)
