As a Lead Groom Artist, you will be responsible for leading a team of groom artists, ensuring the successful delivery of high-quality groom, including hair, fur & feathers for a variety of characters and creatures across various projects while collaborating with the supervision team to ensure the creative and technical needs are fulfilled.This role requires a strong understanding of the visual effects pipeline, excellent technical and artistic skills, and the ability to mentor and guide junior artists.

Lead and manage a team of CFX Groom artists, providing clear guidance, feedback, and technical support.

Create high-quality hair, fur, and feather grooms for characters and creatures, adhering to artistic and technical specifications.

Develop and implement efficient grooming workflows, tools, and pipelines.

Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to grooming, including simulation, texturing, rendering and integration.

Optimize grooms for performance and memory efficiency without compromising visual fidelity.

Collaborate closely with various departments, including modeling, surfacing and internal CFX setup artists to ensure seamless integration of groom into the pipeline.

Collaborate with CFX Department Supervisor/s and Show Supervisor/s to maintain a high standard of quality and consistency across all CFX assets in the project.

Contribute to the development of departmental best practices and documentation.

Participate in bidding and scheduling discussions as needed.

Ensure that all CFX work adheres to project deadlines and budget constraints.

Mentor and train junior groom artists, fostering their growth and development.

Contribute to the development of departmental best practices and documentation.

Bachelor's degree in Computer Graphics, Animation, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

Minimum four (4) years of CFX groom experience in live-action visual effects for feature films, episodic or similar production environments with a strong portfolio showcasing a diverse range of groom work.

Proven experience in a leadership or supervisory role.

Expertise in industry-standard grooming software, Houdini, is required.

Strong understanding of hair, fur, and feather anatomy, physics, and rendering principles.

Demonstrable experience with character rigging, modeling, and texturing workflows as they relate to grooming.

Excellent artistic eye for detail, form, and realism.

Excellent understanding of visual effects pipelines and production workflows.

Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

Excellent communication, interpersonal and leadership skills.

Exceptional problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

Excellent organizational skills.

Ability to take direction and constructive criticism.

Familiarity with scripting languages is a plus (Python, VEX).

Experience with character simulation is a plus.

Experience with Nuke/Mari/V-Ray/3dsMax is a plus

Other DCC knowledge is a plus.

모델링, 서피싱, 내부 CFX 셋업 아티스트 등 다양한 부서와 긴밀히 협업하여 그룸이 파이프라인에 원활하게 통합되도록 합니다.

CFX 부서 슈퍼바이저 및 쇼 슈퍼바이저와 협업하여 프로젝트 내 모든 CFX 에셋의 품질과 일관성을 유지합니다.

부서의 베스트 프랙티스와 문서화 작업에 기여합니다.

필요에 따라 입찰 및 스케줄 논의에 참여합니다.
