About the Role
~1 min readThis is a highly visible executive seat. As VP of Recruiting, youâll work directly with our CEO and COO to shape the growth of every team in the company. Your mandate isnât to simply âfill seats.â Itâs to raise the caliber of talent across the entire business â building a machine that consistently delivers world-class hires who raise the bar, strengthen the culture, and give Files.com an unfair advantage against competitors who are larger, richer, and slower.
And weâre not looking for someone to run an old-school department. Files.com is building the recruiting function of 2025:
- AI at the Core: The early stages of sourcing and screening are automated with LLMs, embeddings, and custom-built integrations. Boolean searches and manual filtering are relics of the past.
- ATS Expertise: Our recruiting stack is anchored in Greenhouse, where weâve already invested thousands of hours in automation. Youâll maximize it and push it further with AI integrations.
- Automation-First Mindset: Recruiting must scale without scaling headcount. Here, automation isnât an add-on â itâs the foundation.
- Employer Branding as Execution: You wonât just say âbranding matters.â Youâll personally script compelling job posts, design messaging that resonates, and lead the creation of media that convinces candidates to join â often literally, since this role requires selling in-office work.

- Hands-On Execution: This is not a PowerPoint role. Youâll design automations, experiment with sourcing bots, write compelling copy, and deliver early wins yourself.

Youâll work directly with the CEO and COO, shaping the growth of every team and owning a company-defining function with true authority.
Responsibilities
~2 min read- âOwn the full recruiting funnel â sourcing, attraction, screening, evaluation, negotiation, and signed offers â ensuring every stage operates at a world-class level.
- âBuild and scale an AI-first recruiting engine that sources thousands of candidates monthly, automates early screening, and reliably produces a pipeline of top-tier talent.
- âRaise the caliber of every hire by setting an uncompromising bar, developing statistically rigorous interview and testing processes, and rejecting mediocrity.
- âEngineer durable recruiting systems in Greenhouse (and beyond) that eliminate inefficiency, multiply recruiter output, and scale with growth. This means APIs, AI/LLM integrations, and real automation design.
- âPartner deeply with hiring managers to co-create interview frameworks, question banks, and evaluation methods that surface true signal and consistently identify top performers.
- âDrive employer branding execution â from writing compelling job copy to shaping careers site content and guiding media that motivates top candidates to join our in-office culture.
- âContinuously innovate with a âMoneyballâ mindset â finding overlooked signals of high performance that competitors miss, and turning them into reliable selection advantages.
- âProtect the integrity of hiring by aggressively filtering out fraudulent, low-commitment, or âover-employedâ candidates.
- âDocument every system and process rigorously. At Files.com, nothing âexistsâ until it is deeply documented. Youâll ensure every workflow, rubric, and playbook is captured in writing so the recruiting engine can be scaled, audited, and improved.
