About the Role
~1 min readAs Head of BESS Development at Flower, you will lead and build our infrastructure development function across all current markets (Sweden, Germany, France, Belgium, the Netherlands and Austria). This is a strategic leadership role focused on long-term horizons, securing land, building relationships with municipalities, landowners and regulators and shaping Flower's positioning over the next 5–10 years. Beyond BESS, the role will span energy infrastructure broadly and includes identifying and entering new markets as Flower grows.
Reporting to the VP of Asset Development, you will lead a team of 8–10 project developers with full people leadership responsibility. You will also be a member of the Asset Development management team, alongside managers responsible for Asset Acquisitions and Partnerships, Grid Strategy and EPC.

Lead and develop a multi-market team of developers. You will have full people leadership responsibility.

Own the full development pipeline across all markets, pushing active projects toward Ready-to-Build while securing land and grid connections for projects with timelines extending to 2030 and beyond.

Set and drive a long-term portfolio strategy, defining how Flower should build and position its infrastructure assets over the next 5–10 years across BESS and beyond.

Lead commercial negotiations, including land agreements and regulatory processes across multiple European markets.

Build and maintain strong relationships with municipalities, landowners, grid operators and regulators to create lasting competitive advantages for Flower.

Identify and enter new geographies beyond the current six markets, building data-driven recommendations for where and how Flower should expand its development footprint.
A degree in a relevant technical or commercial field; engineering, real estate, infrastructure, business or similar.
8+ years of experience in infrastructure or energy project development across multiple European markets, with a track record of managing long development timelines and complex stakeholder environments. Experience across more than one asset type (e.g. BESS, wind, solar, real estate, grid or other infrastructure) is a strong advantage.
Proven leadership experience from leading a team or function, with a genuine interest in developing people and building a high-performing team
A commercial and strategic mindset. You are comfortable thinking 10 years ahead, negotiating land and regulatory agreements and building the kind of relationships that take years to develop.
Proven experience navigating stakeholder engagement with municipalities, landowners and regulators across different European regulatory environments.
Strong independent judgement in complex and ambiguous situations, with the ability to balance near-term delivery with long-term strategic positioning.
Fluency in English.
