Flow Traders is looking for an experienced Group Accounting Policy & Advisory Lead to join our team in Amsterdam. The Group Accounting Policy & Advisory Lead is responsible for coordinating the Group’s quarterly financial reporting cycle, including the half-year and annual reporting processes. This role also oversees the reporting and filing obligations of Flow Traders Ltd subsidiaries and serves as a subject matter expert in interpreting and applying complex accounting standards. The objective is to ensure regulatory compliance and deliver accurate, high-quality financial reporting.
This position reports to the Head of Group Reporting & FP&A and works closely with Finance and Business teams across EMEA, APAC, and the United States. In addition, the role manages relationships with external auditors.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Coordinate the Group’s quarterly financial reporting cycle, including half-year and annual reporting processes
- →Oversee statutory and regulatory reporting, including preparation of Group financial statements in accordance with IFRS and Dutch GAAP
- →Manage all reporting and filing obligations for Flow Traders Ltd subsidiaries
- →Deliver reliable, timely and accurate group financial reporting pack as part of month-close activities, which include financial accounting and control, analysis and group consolidation
- →Monitor compliance with financial policies and procedures, update and create policies where required, matching the fast-paced development of our business and related guidelines and regulations
- →Establish, improve and maintain internal controls to safeguard accuracy financial reports
- →Work closely with local finance and management teams, providing insights, maintaining high quality of financial data
- →Mentor and motivate the junior team members
- →Contribute to the improvement, automation and simplification of reporting activities
Requirements
~1 min read- Master's degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field
- Professional accounting certification (RC, RA or equivalent)
- 7-10 years of relevant professional experience
- Strong technical accounting expertise in IFRS and Dutch GAAP, with the ability to resolve complex accounting issues
- Knowledge of financial regulations (IFR/IFD) and capital requirement frameworks
- Excellent communication, listening, and stakeholder management skills
- Strong analytical capabilities with a high level of attention to detail
- Ability to prioritize effectively and solve complex problems in a fast-paced environment
- Experience in an investment firm and/or crypto business is considered a strong advantage
