FLSmidth ABON is seeking skilled CNC Machinists to operate and maintain CNC machines to produce high-precision components used in heavy mining equipment. The ideal candidate will have experience with CNC programming, machine setup, and quality control to ensure the highest standards of manufacturing.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Operate CNC lathes, milling machines, and other machining equipment to manufacture components according to engineering drawings and specifications.
- →Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documents to determine machining requirements.
- →Set up and adjust machines, including selecting appropriate tools, speeds, and feeds for optimal performance.
- →Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of CNC machines to ensure efficiency and minimize downtime.
- →Conduct quality inspections using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other measuring instruments to verify conformance to specifications.
- →Collaborate with engineers, supervisors, and team members to optimize machining processes and improve production efficiency.
- →Maintain a safe and clean working environment by following safety procedures and regulations.
- →Document production activities, including machine settings, adjustments, and completed work.
Requirements
~1 min read- Certificate III or IV in Engineering (Machining) or equivalent trade qualification.
- Minimum 2-5 years of experience as a CNC Machinist in a manufacturing or heavy industry environment.
- Strong knowledge of CNC programming (Mazatrol, G-code, Fanuc, Okuma preferred).
- Proficiency in using precision measuring instruments and interpreting engineering drawings.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Commitment to workplace safety and quality assurance.
- Experience in machining components for the mining or heavy equipment industry.
- Mazak experience a big advantage
- Familiarity with CAD/CAM software for programming CNC machines.
- Forklift or overhead crane operation certification.
