This is an exciting opportunity for an early-career finance professional to join a mission-driven organization and play a key role in supporting the financial health and operational success of Foundation Academies. As a Business Office Finance Associate, you will gain hands-on experience across core finance functions including accounts payable, reconciliations, grants management, reporting, and audit preparation.

You will work closely with the Controller and a collaborative operations team, contributing to systems that ensure accuracy, transparency, and efficiency in financial operations. This role offers meaningful exposure to nonprofit/school finance, opportunities to strengthen technical and analytical skills, and the chance to directly support work that impacts scholars, families, and school communities.

  • Process and track vendor invoices and support accounts payable operations
  • Assist with accounts receivable and revenue deposits to ensure timely and accurate recording
  • Support monthly reconciliations and ensure financial data is accurate and properly documented
  • Maintain organized, audit-ready financial records and documentation
  • Track grant expenditures and support grant compliance reporting requirements
  • Assist with preparing financial reports, dashboards, spreadsheets, and supporting materials
  • Update financial systems, trackers, and databases to ensure accuracy and completeness
  • Respond to finance-related inquiries from staff and vendors in a timely and professional manner
  • Collaborate with school-based and central office teams to support smooth financial operations
  • Support audit preparation and other finance-related projects as assigned
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field preferred (or equivalent relevant experience)
  • 1–3 years of experience in finance, accounting, bookkeeping, grants management, or related administrative/operational work preferred
  • Experience in nonprofit or school-based finance strongly preferred
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Google Workspace
  • Familiarity with accounting or financial systems preferred
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound professional judgment
  • Strong collaboration skills and a team-oriented mindset
