Acadia Youth Conservation Corps Crew Leader
Quick Summary
This temporary position is in the Administrative Branch at Acadia National Park; is directly
supervised by the Volunteer Program Coordinator (GS-0025-09) with daily direction from
the Lead Park Rangers GS-0025-07 (YCC Director). The incumbent serves as a Crew
Leader for the Youth Conservation Corps (YCC), a non-residential, work-based learning
program. Responsible for leading groups of youth on assigned work projects relating to
natural resource conservation and management, trail rehabilitation, etc. Work is centered on
work projects, resource education, leadership, and recreational activities. Incumbent must
possess a valid driver’s license.
- Directs, leads, and coordinates training, and work projects to be completed by the youth crews.
- Provides direction on work projects including correct use of hand tools, maintaining, and using Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), work tools and equipment, and leave no trace principles.
- Maintains a safe environment for self, co-workers, and enrollees.
- Plans, and leads resource education programs to enrollees.
