FRIENDS is one of Colorado's most established, innovative, and passionate organizations serving adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). FRIENDS of Broomfield is dedicated to enhancing communities by creating opportunities for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities through an innovative and person-centered approach.

 

The PART TIME JOB COACH provides on-going supported employment and job coaching for adult individuals with IDD as well as support and collaboration with their employers to ensure on-the-job success, meaningful employment, and learning and retaining job tasks, skills, and duties to employer specifications. The PART TIME JOB COACH works with a caseload of adult individuals who have goals to achieve greater independence, meaningful inclusion, and engagement in the community, as well as the ability to earn a paycheck.

 

The PART TIME JOB COACH work environment and schedule may change daily and requires reliable transportation in order to access job sites and businesses in Broomfield and the surrounding communities. The PART TIME JOB COACH position requires the ability to work independently with excellent self-management and scheduling skills and is also part of a team that works together routinely and consistently by providing support, coverage, and technical advice to one another. Hours are based around the supported individuals’ work schedules but are generally Monday thru Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.



Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one support on the job, assisting the individual with practicing positive and professional interpersonal skills and productive performance of job tasks and duties to employer’s specifications in order to be a successful employee.
  • Provide your reliable vehicle to access and support individuals at their work sites. Mileage reimbursement and/or occasional use of company vehicle depending on the situation.
    • Recognize the needs and desires of the individual and provide appropriate support.
  • Provide routine positive reinforcement, inspiration, and moral support to the individuals you support.
  • Manage crises according to established policy, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Handle minor issues that arise, including de-escalating, re-directing, reporting progress, problems, and any issues to the Director.
  • Attend team meetings as schedule with Supported Employment team.
  • Communicate with individuals, families, care providers, DVR counselors, case managers, and other members of the interdisciplinary team (IDT) as needed or requested.
  • Act as an advocate for the individual, fostering and supporting a two-way relationship of respect and dignity between the individual, their employer and other community members.
  • Understand and implement DVR Plan for Employment (IPE) or CCB Individual Plan (IP) and assist the individual in creating and working towards measureable goals that align with the services and units authorized in the plans.
  • Document progress notes in Therap



Job Qualifications

  • High School diploma.
  • Experience supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities required.
  • Minimum two (2) years of experience working in a program for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities preferred.
  • Nationally certified Supported Employment Services professional preferred.
  • A., B.S. in psychology, human services, or related field preferred.
  • Reliable transportation, possession of a valid driver’s license, and ability to meet FRIENDS driving requirements.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Dedicated to working as part of a team to make a positive difference in the lives of others.

 

Reports to:  Director of Supported Employment

Hours: Part Time Work; Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM (occasional weekends and holidays as needed may vary depending on support needs for individual work schedules)

Classification: Part time/ Non-Exempt

Pay: $18.00-$22.00 per hour depending on experience
