CCF J1 Electrical Maintenance Technician

Position Title:  J1 Electrical Maintenance Technician (CCF) Columbus, MS   Pay Rate: $41.17/hour   Category/Shift: Hourly Full-Time / Our maintenance technicians generally work a four day 10-hour schedule…Monday through Thursday 7:00am to 5:30pm with every fourth Friday scheduled as an 8-hour day (7:00am-3:30pm).   About The Role: This position supports International Paper’s Columbus Cellulose Fibers (CCF) facility, located in Columbus, Mississippi.  CCF is a vital part of IP’s Global Cellulose Fibers Business.  This is a J1 level Electrical Maintenance Technician position responsible for completing scheduled and routine maintenance work along with performing many other duties, both as part of a team and independently.    Position Responsibilities: Duties include, but are not restricted to, electrical circuit troubleshooting and repair, conduit and wire installation, lighting repair, PLC troubleshooting and repair, drive troubleshooting and repair, as well as instrumentation / control valve calibration, troubleshooting and repair. Personally exhibit safety as a core value and effectively communicate a shared vision for safety Represent both company policy and direction Develop knowledge of department and mill operations processes, equipment and systems Utilize excellent communication and interpersonal skills Utilize the International Paper Change Process to drive change Work effectively alone or within a team Utilize strong organization skills to handle multiple tasks effectively Analyze problems and develop solutions independently or with teams Make timely and effective decisions   About You: Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required: Must be at least age 18 High school diploma, GED or equivalent work experience required Eligible for employment in the US Three (3) or more years verifiable experience as a J1 Electrical technician Previous multi-skilled maintenance experience Must possess high standards in the areas of safety, quality, ethics, craftsmanship, customer focus, and leadership skills. Skilled in maintenance and troubleshooting of Electrical related equipment and process problems Knowledge of key operating areas, PLCs AC & DC drives, analog and digital field instrumentation, and DCS equipment.   Preferred: Two year Associate Degree in any of the IP Core Maintenance skills or related disciplines (Instrumentation or Electrical). Relevant work experience in an industrial environment Strong math/physics understanding Prior experience as a multi-skilled Electrical/Instrumentation Technician   About Global Cellulose Fibers (GCF): Our GCF business helps customers transform renewable cellulose fibers into essential everyday products.
