We are seeking a permanent full-time Coastal Engineer which can be based
in any of our
offices (hybrid) or if you’re not located near an office, you can work remotely from your home office with occasional travel to our offices in Eastern Canada. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and execute coastal modelling studies
- Develop hydrodynamic and wave models
- Perform wave runup, overtopping, and flooding analyses
- Support design of marine and coastal infrastructure
- Size armourstone and coastal protection systems
- Interpret metocean and climate data
- Prepare technical reports and client deliverables
- Support multidisciplinary engineering teams
- Assist with proposals and business development
Qualifications:
- Degree in Civil, Coastal, Ocean, or Water Resources Engineering.
- Eng. (or eligible for registration in Canada)
- Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience with preference for experience in:
- Coastal and marine hydrodynamic modelling
- Wave modelling and wave runup analysis
- Current modelling and sediment transport
- Sea level rise and coastal flooding assessments
- Armourstone sizing and revetment / breakwater design
- Numerical modelling for marine infrastructure design
- Port, harbour, shoreline protection, and coastal structure projects
- Climate resilience and adaptation for coastal infrastructure
- Consulting experience preferred
- Experience delivering engineering design packages and technical reports
- Project experience, working on projects such as marine terminals, breakwaters and revetments, harbour and port infrastructure, shoreline stabilization, etc.
- Software and Modelling skills, in programs such as:
- MIKE21 / MIKE Powered by DHI: Hydrodynamic (HD), Spectral Waves (SW), Sediment Transport (ST) and Coupled Modelling.
- GIS software (ArcGIS or QGIS)
- AutoCAD / Civil 3D
- Python or MATLAB for data analysis and automation
- Experience with LiDAR, bathymetry, and metocean datasets
