The Director Supply Chain is an integral operation partner providing leadership on standard processes to improve customer fulfillment, warehousing efficiency, logistics efficiency, total cost of working capital, WMS / ERP technology and operating costs. This role is responsible for driving business solutions and practices utilizing GENERAC’s Operating Model to develop a demand driven SIOP approach. The Director Supply Chain will organize and implement strategic initiatives and standardized approaches in Demand Management, Materials

Management, Warehousing Management, Planning / Procurement and WMS / ERP technologies.

Success in this role is defined by driving significant step function changes in Materials Supply Chain processes with demonstrated savings. This will be measured by ongoing improvements in fill rate, working capital and material margins (total cost of ownership). Reports directly to VP Operations and provides direct leadership to Supply Chain Managers, & Materials Managers at two separate locations, one in NE and one in WI.

 

Requirements

· Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, Operations Management, or related field OR equivalent experience;

· 10 years’ experience within operations, business or supply chain;

· 5 years’ experience as WMS/ERP/MRP (SAP, Oracle or JDE) Super user;

· Willingness to travel, domestically on a regular basis and on occasion internationally.


· Strong Lean background, preferably in Demand Flow Principles and Practices leveraging SIOP & IBP;

· Supply Chain/Material Certifications – CPM, CPIM;

· Experience in collaborating with multiple sites and functions to drive common solutions;

· Demonstrated ability to influence senior management, teams and individuals across multiple cultures, disciplines and geographies;

· Sound business acumen operating in both High Mix, Low Volume and High Volume, Low Mix Production environments;

· Strong verbal and written communication competencies;

· Strong organization and time management skills: · Solid quantitative skill set and the ability to analyze, think and communicate with well-supported data;

· Strong problem-solving skills; the ability to ask the right questions, help frame logical conclusions and arrive at effective solutions;

· Professional manner and personal maturity.


Responsibilities

· Help define and deploy GENERAC’s disciplined operating model in supply chain & materials management that supports operational excellence and a multi-year roadmap of strategic initiatives to build capabilities that support global, regional and site-level objectives;

· Collaborate with executive management and key stakeholders to develop & execute strategies for improving business processes and related systems;

· Ensure Supply Chain and Production Execution capabilities in sync to maximize productivity and maintain lowest cost of operation, leveraging principles of SIOP;

· Develop and challenge resources to improve performance through systems utilization and process improvements;

· Improve Tactical Purchasing in conjunction with GENERAC’s Strategic Global Sourcing team to reduce lead times and improve material margins through Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) model;

· Lead and improve Material/Inventory Management best practices including Plan for Every Part (PFEP)., ABC Analysis, Purchasing Methods (PO, Blanket, etc.), Warehouse Management (Cycle Count Accuracy, Transactions, Bar Coding, RFID) and Advance Replenishment Methods (MRP, Stocking Programs, VMI,

Consignment, Re-Order Point and Direct Pull);

· Lead processes to ensure continuity of supply throughout the operation to achieve uninterrupted supply of quality components and assemblies;

· Champion standard GENERAC tools and methodologies and act as a recognized subject matter expert (SME) providing training and certification;

· Provide and facilitate collaboration amongst team members and cross-functionally. Resolve differences and/or conflicts effectively;

· Participate in the design and direction of the Supply Chain team. Select, coach and develop the team, setting objectives that align with company strategy to inspire and motivate. Manage organizational talent through performance management, succession planning and development. Design and direct processes by

which team and individual performance are recognized, feedback is consistently delivered and performance is systematically improved;

· Define resource needs and work within budget and staffing parameters to accomplish objectives;

· Other duties as assigned.


Office Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear; and use hands to manipulate objects or controls. The employee is regularly required to stand and walk. On occasion the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend or reach above the shoulders. The employee must occasionally lift up to 25 pounds. Specific conditions of this job are typical of frequent and continuous computer-based work requiring periods of sitting; close vision and ability to adjust focus. Up to 30% travel and valid Driver’s

License required.
