  • At least Bachelor’s degree in health-related field is required.
  • At least 5-years’ experience working with patient navigation and community engagement. More experience is preferable.
  • Proficiency in conversational English and Spanish. 
  • Must have flexibility to work at least one weekend a month.
  • Technical Qualifications or Specialized Certification: Up-to-date knowledge of patient navigation gold standards, social media advertising, and metrics tracking systems

 


The primary function of this position is to serve as a senior bilingual patient navigator at the Ralph Lauren Center for Cancer Prevention, Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center. The scope of the position includes conducting community outreach and education; assisting patients with access to breast, cervical, colon, and lung cancer screening services; building and maintaining relationships with community partners/service providers; and tracking interventions and outcomes. The senior patient navigator will also create evidence-based navigation workflows, update existing navigation protocols to align with national guidelines, train other navigation team members on best practices, and supervise the collection of navigation metrics. In addition, the navigator will work with center leadership to design and offer additional services relevant to cancer prevention and survivorship.


The senior patient navigator partners with staff members, clinical staff, and leadership to refine existing systems that proactively identify and address patient needs. Essential skills include thorough attention to detail, strong organizational skills, effective interpersonal skills, strong verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to train others. Some evening and weekend hours are required.

 

This position will also support efforts of the Ralph Lauren Center for Cancer Prevention with regards to research studies applicable to navigated patients. Provide breast health education, identify barriers to screening, reduce known barriers, facilitate appointments, conduct eligibility screening and ensure patient compliance with recommended breast, cervical, colon, and lung cancer screenings. 


  • Navigate patients to cancer screening, diagnostic and treatment services
  • Proactive outreach to community partners and primary care practices to identify new collaborators
  • Creating revised navigation workflows and metrics that align with evidence-based guidelines
  • Train new navigation team members and provide expertise on metrics collection and reporting
  • Work closely with center leadership to identify and design new services relevant to cancer prevention and survivorship
  • Work with data manger to collate and report navigation-related metrics for internal and external reports

 


This position reports to the Director of Cancer Screening and works closely with all of the center's staff and faculty.

Pay Range:

The projected salary or hourly pay range for this position which represents the full range of anticipated compensation is:

$44,022.00 - $73,406.80

Compensation is determined by a number of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s individual qualifications, experience, education, skills, and certifications, as well as the University’s business needs and external factors.
