We're looking for a Bridge Inspector to join our WA Bridges Business Group to join our Perth-based team, supporting a diverse client base across Western Australia.
Join our team of globally connected specialists to help solve complex transport challenges and experience groundbreaking projects from idea to delivery, and beyond.
This is an ideal opportunity for candidates with a technical officer or engineering background with an interest in structural inspection and asset management.
You’ll be supported by an experienced team who are leaders in the field, with strong mentoring, structured training and exposure to a wide range of assets.
The role offers a balanced mix of site and office-based work, with travel across WA, in addition to technical reporting. The role also includes basic project management in the form of project planning and subcontractor management.
- Completing bridge inspections, including visual, non-destructive and intrusive inspection methods
- Identify defects and collect condition and inventory data in line with inspection standards
- Complete inspection reporting within project budgets and timeframes
- Assist with the implementation and maintenance of safety management systems
- Operate access equipment such as elevated work platforms where required
- Assist with project management of inspection projects including project planning, inspection methodology development and subcontractor management
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Engineering degree or advanced diploma and relevant experience related to bridge or structure inspections and asset management
- →Main Roads WA Level 2 inspector accreditation preferred but not essential (similarly ARRB Level 2 training)
- →An understanding of asset inspection techniques and sound report-writing and communication skills
- →A sound understanding of Occupational Safety and Health principles
- →High levels of self‑discipline, initiative and motivation
- →Ability to work effectively in a small, supportive team across varying work environments from remote sites to office
- →Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
The successful candidate must also be willing to undergo a Railway Category 3 Medical, to be discussed during interview.
