About the Role

We are looking for a professional to plan and lead initiatives that ensure our workplace is safe, compliant, and environmentally responsible. You will work across departments to uphold our commitment to protecting people and the planet by fostering a culture of Zero Harm.   

The ideal candidate brings extensive experience managing environmental compliance for highly regulated operations. This includes full ownership of permitting, inspections, monitoring, and reporting obligations, as well as driving corrective actions and continuous improvement to reduce environmental risk.  Expertise in developing and implementing ISO 14001 compliant management systems is critical to success in this role.

This is an on-site position in Livermore, CA and will report to the Head of EHS.

  • Manage environmental compliance, ensuring that all required inspections, sampling and reporting are completed in accordance with regulatory requirements
  • Develop and implement ISO 14001-compliant management systems to support achieving the mission of Zero Harm
  • Develop and lead assessments and hazard analysis to identify EHS operational risks, coordinate and act as the facility representative for regulatory and third-party audits and assessments
  • Respond to incidents and lead investigations, root cause analysis and manage implementation and maintenance of corrective actions to prevent recurrence and improve EHS performance
  • Work across functional areas to develop and implement corrective actions and controls to reduce and/or eliminate EHS risks
  • Conduct research and write work instructions, training materials and other technical documents
  • Support EHS education for employees across all functional areas by developing, implementing and maintaining comprehensive training programs to maintain compliance with regulatory requirements and build EHS competency throughout the organization
  • Develop and lead employee events and activities to engage the workforce, and promote environmental stewardship
  • Coordinate and manage emergency response including organizing and conducting tabletop exercises, evacuation drills and related activities

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, industrial hygiene, chemical engineering, or similar field
  • Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in EHS management, with emphasis on environmental compliance, in a manufacturing, fabrication, heavy assembly or comparable industrial environment
  • Demonstrate a strong analytical mindset with a decisive, action‑oriented approach
  • Possess advanced expertise in researching, interpreting, and applying regulatory standards
  • Exhibit highly developed technical writing skills with the ability to produce clear, precise documentation
  • Effectively influence outcomes by fostering collaboration, building trust, and aligning stakeholders
  • Take full ownership of responsibilities, operating proactively while leveraging managerial guidance as needed
  • Ability to lift 35 lbs.
  • Frequent movement between work areas, including outdoor and indoor environments with the ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday
  • Occasional bending, kneeling, twisting or stooping
  • The ideal candidate must be able to complete all physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation. Must be able to navigate manufacturing environment, comfortable around heavy machinery, tools, etc.
