Agricultural Estate Manager

Role Summary
The Agricultural Estate Manager is responsible for the oversight of designated agricultural lands in accordance with policies, agreements and legislation governing crown lands, agriculture, fisheries, water and the environment. Functions also include maintenance of infrastructure, facilities, equipment and machinery.

Role Responsibilities
1. Oversees the records management of land leases for easy retrieval.
2. Monitor activities and conduct regular inspections for compliance with sustainable practices, regulations and adherence to land and water use policies, permits and agreements.
3. Oversees maintenance, repairs and upgrades of agricultural and fisheries lands, infrastructure, equipment and machinery.
4. Review lease or licence agreements for crown lands designated for agriculture and fisheries.
5. Support assessments of agricultural and fisheries lands for optimal usage and supply of water to farms.
6. Supports boundary verification and correction if deemed necessary.
7. Evaluate the effectiveness of management initiatives for improvement of managing agriculture and fisheries lands, infrastructure, water distribution, access to emerging technologies and best practices.
8. Liaise with farmers, fishers, cooperatives, associations, government agencies, etc., to share and provide information in addition to addressing concerns and fulfilling reporting obligations.
9. Prepare quarterly progress reports and/or present on land use, maintenance needs, stakeholder feedback, key findings and trends.
10. Provides support with the implementation of the department’s work plan.
11. Attends relevant industry workshops, meetings and other forums to stay abreast of industry developments.
12. Complete a minimum of 60 Essential Learning hours annually to enhance professional knowledge and skills.
13. Perform additional duties that are reasonable, job-related, and within the scope of this position, supporting the objectives and effectiveness of the Department, as assigned by the Supervisor or senior officer.

Minimum Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Environmental Science, Land Management, Planning and Development or related field or any equivalent combination of experience and training.
• Five (5) years’ experience
