As part of the DKV Mobility Group, Smartlab and GreenFlux are jointly shaping the future of e-mobility across Europe. Operating in a highly dynamic SaaS environment, both companies develop and scale digital platforms that connect charge point operators, partners, and end users across international markets.
We are now looking for a Head of AI E-Mobility (m/f/d) who will play a pivotal role in driving the next phase of innovation. This role can be based either in Aachen (Smartlab) or Amsterdam (GreenFlux) and is uniquely positioned at the intersection of two leading organizations within the DKV ecosystem.
Bringing together Smartlab’s extensive experience in building integrated e-mobility platforms and GreenFlux’s best-in-class cloud-based charging solutions, you will define and lead a unified AI strategy across both entities. Your mission is to translate cutting-edge AI capabilities into tangible business value—enhancing products, automating processes, improving software development, and unlocking new growth opportunities in the evolving e-mobility landscape.
Responsibilities

Integrate AI into existing products and develop new AI-driven features
Identify data-driven business opportunities
Translate AI initiatives into clear business value, customer benefits, and ROI
Align AI initiatives with overall company and commercial strategy
Drive automation of internal processes and workflows
Implement AI-supported analytics and decision systems
Build AI-based support and knowledge solutions to improve efficiency and service quality
Introduce AI-supported development workflows
Enable and guide teams in using AI (e.g. coding assistants, testing, architecture)
Support teams hands-on in the implementation of AI use cases
Act as central interface across product, tech, operations, and business teams
Ensure alignment with DKV’s enterprise AI organization and initiatives
Continuously monitor market trends and emerging AI technologies
Translate relevant trends into actionable initiatives for the organization
Requirements
~1 min readWe are looking for an experienced AI leader who combines a strong strategic perspective with a practical, hands-on approach. You are able to translate emerging AI technologies into concrete business value, customer impact, and operational improvements. You are comfortable working across different teams, countries, and business contexts, and you know how to bring structure, momentum, and focus to a fast-developing area.
You are commercially aware, technically credible, and able to communicate complex topics in a clear and engaging way. You enjoy building something new, bringing people along in the process, and helping teams understand how AI can improve the way they work, build products, and serve customers.
A relevant university degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Business Technology, or a related field.
At least 5 years of experience in AI, Data science, Software engineering, Product Management or related roles, with proven experience translating AI capabilities into practical business value.
At least 3 years of proven experience in defining, building, and scaling AI initiatives and completed AI-driven projects within a business environment.
Strong understanding of modern AI and machine learning technologies, including generative AI, LLM ecosystems, automation, AI agents, analytics, and data-driven decision-making.
Experience translating AI opportunities into practical use cases, business cases, roadmaps, and measurable outcomes.
A solid understanding of SaaS platforms, digital products, software development processes, and data-driven product environments.
The ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution and practical implementation.
Strong stakeholder management, communication, and influencing skills.
A structured and pragmatic working style, with the ability to prioritize initiatives based on business value, feasibility, risk, and impact.
Awareness of AI governance, data privacy, information security, compliance, and responsible AI principles.
Excellent command of English, both written and verbal. German and/or Dutch language skills are a plus.
Experience in e-mobility, energy, telecommunications, mobility platforms, or international SaaS environments is considered a strong advantage.
