Avionics Technician I

Summary

Entry-level avionics technician performing installation, modifications, maintenance, software loading and troubleshooting on VIP aircraft.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Possesses basic knowledge of avionics installation, modification, maintenance, and system integration across all aircraft systems and assigned work scope.
• Accurately interpret maintenance manuals, service bulletins, wire diagrams, system schematics, drawings, engineering orders and other documents from both the client and Greenpoint. 
• Modify, repair, replace, or otherwise perform routine aircraft maintenance work in specialized area of aircraft. 
• Properly utilize and maintain Avionics hand tools to perform repairs and installations. 
• Accurately document work performed as set forth by Greenpoint and customer maintenance programs daily using the standard format. 
• Fabricate wire bundles and assemblies per drawings and standard practices to include marking of wires, properly securing wires into bundles, and termination of wires into a variety of contacts and connectors. 
• Assist with troubleshooting issues, replacement, or repair of parts, testing and making necessary adjustments. 
• Operate ground support equipment e.g. GPUs, Hi-Reach, etc. as required. 
• Operate test equipment e.g. Pitot Static Cart, Navigation test sets, etc.as required. 
• Help with general clean-up of work area. 
• Responsible for accurately clocking to jobs. 
• Regular and prompt attendance. 
• Effective and appropriate conduct with coworkers. 
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Summary of Education, Experience & Certification

2-3 years of avionics experience preferred

Familiar with the Standard Wiring Practices Manual.

Airframe (A) or Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) License preferred, not required.

Employees working on programs subject to International Traffic in Arms Regulations must qualify as a US Person which is defined as a US Citizen, a Permanent Resident who does not work for a foreign company/foreign government/foreign governmental agency or organization, or a political asylee for legal compliance purposes.

This safety-sensitive position is covered by the Department of Transportation's (DOT) Drug and Alcohol Testing Program. Any applicant selected for this position will be subject to pre-employment drug testing. Persons occupying a "safety-sensitive” position will be subject to random drug and/or alcohol testing. Post-accident, reasonable cause, and return-to-duty tests may also be required based on specific circumstances.  

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Works under direct supervision as needed, subject to expeience.
• Ability to communicate in English (read, write, and verbally communicate).
• Mathematical knowledge and ability to apply towards problem solving.
• Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite. (Outlook, Word)
• Ability to work overtime, as required.
• Ability to travel.

Physical Requirements

• Able to comply with DOT/FAA Drug and Alcohol Testing Program.
• Able to climb and work on step stools and/or ladders.
• Able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds without assistance and ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds with assistance.
• Able to reach overhead.
• Able to work in a non-dust-free environment.
• Normal or corrected vision (required to perform exacting tasks).
• Full range of motion with both hands.
• Ability to work in a stooping, kneeling or standing position and in cramped areas.

The expected WA salary range for this position is between $61,000.00 - $85,000.00 USD. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, education, location, and other factors permitted by law.
