ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Preventative maintenance and repair of bulk trailers to meet the standards of DOT compliance.
Daily auditing of trailers using the ‘Trailer Evaluation” process form to ensure compliance and effectiveness of maintenance processes.
Adjust, repair, replace brake components as needed to maintain a safe and roadworthy trailer that complies with DOT regulations.
Maintain and repair other trailer systems such as the suspension, frame elements, hopper elements, motor elements, hydraulic components, air system components, and electrical.
Champion of the Trailer Management Process.
Ensure compliance with all Federal, State and Local ordinances affecting this position.
Ensure compliance with all Company policies and programs.
Maintain valid licenses, certifications and/or permits required to perform responsibilities.
Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION:

High school diploma
DOT brake certification training

WORK EXPERIENCE:

2+ years of experience in trailer repair and maintenance
Welding skill a plus.

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS:

Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Communicating with internal and external customers – must be able to talk, hear, see, and comprehend.
Mobility of arms – Must be able to reach and use arms to manipulate small objects.
Mobility inside the plant – Must be able to stand for extended periods of time, reach, bend, and lift up to 100 pounds.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
Work is routinely performed in a general warehouse environment on a concrete surface, with frequent exposure to both internal and external environment.
Frequent exposure to severe weather conditions, both heat and cold.
Frequent exposure to dust, and noise levels that exceed a normal threshold.

PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT:

Must wear steel-toed boots.
Recommended: Safety glasses, ear plugs, gloves, back brace, and safety attire as noted by guides provided in specific areas. These will be provided by Harrell’s upon request.
Personal Protective Equipment must be worn in accordance with SDS recommendations.
