Statistical Analyst I (Data Analytics)

Department / Cluster: Bureau Support, Strategy and Planning Division, HA Head Office

Pay: HK$53,737 - HK$70,709 [HGPS point 22 - 28] per month (including Monthly Allowance) 

Up to 15% of total basic salary (after deducting the contribution of Mandatory Provident Fund by Hospital Authority) as end-of-contract gratuity may be offered to contract staff upon completion of the contract subject to satisfactory performance.

Key Responsibilities

The post-holder will be seconded to the Research and Data Analytics Office, Health Bureau with main duties as follows:

1. Perform exploration on the collected data from multiple sources to support development of data visualization, data analytics and statistical modelling.
2. Develop structured processes to extract, organise and transform data into analyzable datasets supporting development of data visualization, data analytics and statistical modelling.
3. Implement the planned data visualization, data analytics and statistical modelling tasks.
4. Prepare documentation of statistical production processes and presentation materials.
5. Execute tasks as planned in the routine statistical production processes, including updating of the Domestic Health Accounts, Population-Based Health Data Model and prepare data transformation and standardization using data in the Data Analytics Platform.
6. Execute tasks related to the planning, implementation and result dissemination of survey and research studies.
7. Maintain the day-to-day functioning of statistical systems and databases of the Unit.

8. Perform other related duties as assigned by seniors.

    

Entry Requirements

1. A bachelor degree in Statistics, Data Science or equivalent.
2. At least 3 years’ post-qualification experience in statistical analysis and computing work, or research related work.

Preferable Attributes/Exposure

1. Knowledge of and experience in statistical computing techniques and application of statistical packages & data visualisation tools such as SAS, Tableau, Python, R, GIS.
2. Knowledge of and experience in applying and deploying AI and big data techniques for data processing, data visualisation and data analytics.
3. Experience in handling demographic, socio-economic and health related statistics.
4. Experience in statistical analysis and computing work, economic analysis, or research related work at health settings.
5. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (including Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Word and Outlook).
6. Good command of both spoken and written English and Chinese.
7. Good interpersonal and communication skills.
8. Able to work independently and openness to learning new skills.
