Hybrid Work
HCVT currently offers a hybrid work model that allows eligible employees to work both remotely and in the office, based on business needs and team coordination. When working remotely, employees are expected to meet the same performance standards, adhere to the same policies, and maintain the same level of communication, collaboration, and responsiveness as working in the office. The Paraprofessional will be responsible for assisting the firm’s Trusts and Estates group and Legal Department.

With respect to the Trusts and Estates group, this position will assist trust administration at the direction of tax professionals.  Duties and responsibilities include, review and summarize trust documents, information gathering and tracking, preparing or reviewing estate tax returns (Form 706) and related filings, and gift tax returns (Form 709), preparing or reviewing accountings.

As for the Legal Department, this position will require handling the firm’s CPA licensing, business registration, and compliance filings for firm entities; drafting, reviewing, and maintaining NDAs and engagement agreements; and assisting with subpoenas and corresponding document productions.

  • Strong knowledge of post death trust administration
  • Understanding of tax-exempt organizations a plus
  • The ability to research statutes and regulations applicable to CPA firms
  • Experience reviewing NDAs and handling subpoenas and document productions
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Superior organization skills and attention to detail
  • Advanced computer skills, including all Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Extensive experience interacting directly with clients and keeping them informed
  • Ability to interact well with tax professionals, attorneys, staff and third-party vendors
  • Notary Public a plus
  • Must have 3+ years of relevant experience, preferably as a paralegal with an emphasis on trusts and estates
