IT Production Support Specialist

An IT Production Support Specialist is responsible for maintaining and supporting live (production) systems and applications. This role ensures that business-critical systems run smoothly with minimal downtime, quickly resolving incidents and preventing future issues.

• → Monitor production systems, applications, and services
• → Respond to incidents, outages, and system alerts
• → Troubleshoot and resolve application, database, and infrastructure issues
• → Perform root cause analysis (RCA) for recurring problems
• → Support deployments, releases, and system changes
• → Work with developers and DevOps teams to fix bugs
• → Maintain logs, dashboards, and system documentation
• → Ensure system stability, uptime, and performance

• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
• Knowledge of operating systems (Linux/Windows)
• Basic networking (TCP/IP, DNS)
• Experience with monitoring tools (Splunk, Nagios, Datadog)
• Understanding of databases (SQL queries, basic tuning)
• Scripting (Shell, Python, PowerShell)
• Familiarity with ITIL processes (incident, problem, change management)

• Degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field
• Certifications such as:
  • ITIL Foundation
  • CompTIA Network+ / Security+
  • Cloud certifications (AWS, Azure)
• Experience with cloud or SaaS environments
