As a Software Analyst Intern/Coop at Hitachi Rail Canada Inc., you will contribute to the development and analysis of software solutions, gaining hands-on experience in a global technology leader. This role is designed for students seeking to apply their academic knowledge in a real-world engineering environment.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Contributes to the formalization of mission/function description, architectural & algorithms design.
- →Document test procedures, automation scripts and test software code.
- →Perform engineering testing, unit testing.
- →Solves tasks in the best technical and timely manner. Looks for opportunities and make suggestions for improvements.
Requirements
~1 min read- University student in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a closely related field.
- Entry level analysis skills, able to diagnose issues.
- Able to handle assignments within a small to medium scale software application
- Knowledgeable of the software development processes
- Familiar with C, C++, and Python
- Able to quickly integrate with the team and work independently
- Knowledge of software development environment (Microsoft Visual Studio, desktop simulator, CI/CD etc.)
- Practical experience in using typical programs which are part of Microsoft Office Suite
- Practical experience with source control, IDE and requirements management tools.
- Knowledgeable of test automation, unit testing, and CI/CD.
- Able to work 40 hours per week for the full duration of the internship. During the two weeks, the intern is expected to be at least two days per week.
- Co-op student available for an 8- or 12-month term, with at least one quarter or semester of coursework remaining after completing the internship.
- Previous co-op/internship experience is a plus.
