Adjunct - Clinical Faculty - BSN Required

Adjunct Clinical Faculty members assist course Faculty in implementing the clinical component of a nursing program. In accordance with established nursing standards, the Adjunct Clinical Faculty supervises student practice by providing guidance, direction and support appropriate to the clinical situation. This role also evaluates student performance in the clinical setting and provides feedback on the student’s performance to course faculty.

Responsibilities

→Bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN) is required
→Experience of at least two years full-time in the practice of nursing as a registered nurse or part-time equivalent
→Active and unencumbered licensure as a registered nurse in the state of MI
→Current Basic Cardiac Life Support certification (BCLS) compliant with the American Heart Association.
→Ability to identify and resolve complex issues
→Strong time management and organizational skills
→Ability to supervise nursing students and provide direction at a clinical site
→Ability to troubleshoot and resolve or recommend solutions to moderately complex problems
→Ability to coordinate student assignments
→Ability to sit, stand and walk for extended periods of time
→Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks concurrently
→Excellent verbal and written communication skills
→Ability to interact diplomatically with a variety of individuals at various organizational levels
→Knowledge of nursing theories, standards, and practice
→Knowledge of the Nurse Practice Act and ability to differentiate between LPN and RN scope of practice
→General knowledge of teaching-learning strategies utilized in nursing education and outcomes assessment

General Credentialing Requirements:

Applicants selected and receiving an offer of employment will be required to complete key credentialing requirements for clinical placements prior to being cleared for start. Full detailed information is provided at time of offer. A summary of requirements includes:

→Providing copies of official transcripts for all degrees earned
→Providing a copy of current American Heart Association BLS or ACLS CPR card
→Completion of a physical form (from within the last 12 months)
→Immunization documentation for:

→Hepatitis B
→MMR
→TDAP/Tetanus
→TB (2 step)
→Varicella
→FLU (October 1 – April 1 hires)
