Position: Supervisor of Operations
Job Description: Exempt. Full-time position from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. Monday- Friday, some flexibility is necessary. Primarily responsible for the operations of shelter. Responsible to the Director of Housing.
Responsibilities:
1. Cover hotline during work hours and back up when necessary
2. In collaboration with the Director of Housing and Supervisor of Services; hire and schedule shifts for part-time Shelter Advocates and complete monthly shelter schedule.
3. Supervise Shelter Advocates.
4. Train and supervise on-call staff, including completion of weekly on-call timesheets
5. In collaboration with the Supervisor of Services, train Shelter Case Managers, Shelter Advocates and Interns
6. Document all advocacy, training and community outreach activities
7. Follow and enforce shelter guidelines
8. Supervise and participate in housecleaning, ensuring that the shelter is clean and up to code, including health inspections and fire inspections
9. Perform some building maintenance and repair, and report maintenance problems to supervisor
10. Keep accurate account of food supplies, clothing, hygiene items and other shelter inventory; oversee grocery shopping
11. Assist with fundraisers
12. Office duties such as filing, answering phones, and greeting the public
13. Overviewing documentation from the staff you supervise and helping with file service management
14. Perform staff meetings and staff supervision for Shelter Advocates.
15. Keep record of intern and volunteer hours and evaluations, and report back to the Director of Outreach and Prevention
16. Assist with maintaining electronic management of clients in shelter via Osnium
17. Provide support to clients when necessary
18. Assist with file reviews
19. Assist in keeping server files up to date
20. In collaboration with the Director of Housing and the Director of Services, update shelter guidelines and procedures and other forms per DHS guidelines
21. Other duties assigned
Requirements: A Bachelor’s degree is preferred but will consider Associates degree with related work experience. Supervisor experience preferred. Must be a responsible, mature individual who is capable of handling emergencies in crisis situations. Must be flexible and willing to work with a wide variety of adults and their dependent children. Should have excellent communication skills. Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and proof of auto insurance coverage required. 40 Hours of domestic violence training and successful completion of a background check required. Must agree to sign a confidentiality form indicating that the privacy of HOPE clients, staff and volunteers will be maintained Must be willing to become a Certified Domestic Violence Professional within one year of hire.
