RESPONSIBILITIES:
Essential -
- Assist with all functions of coaching a baseball team.
- Teach classes as assigned. (Nine hours each fall semester/six hours each spring semester and two interterm hours).
- Serve actively on campus committees.
- Comply with HutchCC policies, procedures, and practices.
- Arrive on time for work and successfully perform the responsibilities of the position.
Secondary -
- Perform other responsibilities as assigned by the Head Baseball Coach.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- College or high school coaching experience preferred.
- The willingness and ability to work outside in extreme weather conditions.
- Knowledge of baseball field maintenance preferred.
- The ability to implement and teach practice plans within the team philosophy as dictated by the Head Baseball Coach.
- The willingness and ability to travel often in order to recruit and participate in team travel.
- A positive attitude towards leading and educating baseball players (young men) through the College, both academically and athletically, at an elite level.
- High level of motivation and great work ethic required.
- Physical requirements: Excellent verbal, written and listening skills; ability to perform keyboarding, enter data into a computer; see and read a computer screen and printed material with or without vision aids; hear and understand speech at normal levels and on the telephone; speak in audible tones so that others may understand clearly in person and on the telephone; use appropriate judgment and apply tact and courtesy in difficult situations; attentive to detail, accurately follow written and verbal instructions, work independently; ability to understand words and respond effectively and appropriately; Medium/Indoor/outdoor work environment; may work in adverse weather conditions.

SALARY and STATUS:
The salary is commensurate with qualifications as determined by HutchCC administration. This full-time administrative staff position is 12-months annual, benefit eligible, at-will and exempt

HutchCC CSA Job Description Addendum:
Satisfy the duties of a Campus Security Authority (CSA) relating to Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act (“Clery Act”) by:
- Promptly reporting Clery Act crimes and/or allegations of Clery Act crimes to the designated HutchCC official(s) in accordance with applicable laws, policies, and procedures;
- Completing any HutchCC provided CSA training regarding campus safety and crime reporting issues;
- Assisting in the issuance of timely warnings and emergency notifications in accordance with applicable laws, policies, and procedures;
- Serving as a resource to students, employees, and others regarding crime prevention, reporting and victim assistance; and
- Collaborating with the Coordinator of Campus Safety, the Coordinator of Equity & Compliance, and the Director of Human Resources, regarding campus safety and compliance issues.
- A professional counselor, as designated by HutchCC and whose official responsibilities include providing mental health counseling to members of the HutchCC community, may be exempt from reporting Clery Act crimes and/or allegations of Clery Act crimes when functioning within the scope of the counselor’s license or certification.
