The Vice President of Quality Assurance is a senior executive leader reporting directly to the Chief Technology Officer, responsible for shaping and executing (Hexure, now a part of iCapital's) company-wide quality vision and strategy.  As a member of the senior leadership team, this individual will set the standard for engineering excellence, foster a culture of continuous improvement, and build a world-class quality organization. This position partners closely with product, engineering, and security leaders to embed quality throughout the software development lifecycle and align QA initiatives with organizational goals, regulatory obligations, and customer expectations.

Responsibilities

  • Define and execute Hexure’s quality assurance vision, strategy, and multi-year roadmap, embedding an AI-first testing philosophy aligned with the company’s overall product and platform objectives.
  • Lead, mentor, and scale a high-performing, geographically distributed team of quality managers and test engineers across US and India locations, driving skill development, career growth, and strong team retention.
  • Drive the implementation of robust quality processes, policies, and metrics across all product lines to ensure consistent and measurable results.
  • Lead the adoption of AI-powered test generation, intelligent test selection, and predictive defect detection alongside modern automation frameworks and CI/CD pipelines to accelerate delivery velocity and increase release confidence.
  • Collaborate with product, engineering, and security leaders to embed quality and compliance rigor throughout the software development lifecycle, from requirements through release and post-production monitoring in alignment with SOC 2, SDLC governance, and insurance regulatory standards.
  • Represent the firm as a thought leader in the QA and test engineering industry, participating in industry forums, conferences, and partnerships.
  • Own quality assurance coverage for carrier and distributor integration touchpoints, ensuring reliability of data exchange, API contracts, and end-to-end workflows across the platform ecosystem, including FireLight, ForeSight, Vive, and IXN.
  • Define and monitor quality KPIs, including defect escape rate, automation coverage, nonfunctional test results (performance, security, scalability), and release readiness metrics to drive accountability and demonstrate measurable impact on business outcomes.

 

 

Requirements

  • 12+ years of progressive experience in software development, quality assurance, or technology leadership roles, with at least 5 years in a senior management or executive capacity
  • Expertise in Agile and Scrum methodologies and proven success leading QA teams in fast-paced, iterative development environments
  • Hands-on experience leveraging AI-assisted testing tools (i.e. test case generation, intelligent regression selection, anomaly detection) and a track record of measurably increasing automation coverage and reducing manual testing overhead
  • Strong background in testing enterprise SaaS applications, including nonfunctional testing disciplines (performance, security, scalability, availability) and experience supporting SOC 2 or similar compliance audit evidence
  • Industry knowledge of Life Insurance and Annuities is highly desirable
  • Demonstrated ability to lead large, geographically distributed teams including offshore engineering centers in India, fostering a culture of high performance, innovation, and retention across time zones
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills at all organizational levels

 

What We Offer

The base salary range for this role is $130,000 to $160,000.  iCapital offers a compensation package which includes salary, equity for all full-time employees, and an annual performance bonus.
