Ice Miller LLP is seeking a highly motivated Intellectual Property Patent Agent with at least 2 years of experience in life sciences patenting. This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate with an advanced degree and strong background in biological sciences to work on sophisticated patent matters for clients ranging from Fortune 50 to start-up innovative companies.
This position is open to candidates in any Ice Miller office, preferably in Philadelphia.
Responsibilities

- →Prepare, file and prosecute U.S. and international patent applications in the life sciences sector.
- →Advise clients on patent issues throughout the product lifecycle, including strategic consultation, portfolio management and patent enforcement.
- →Collaborate with clients, colleagues, the USPTO, and foreign associates regarding domestic and international patent prosecution matters.
- →Contribute to a collaborative, entrepreneurial environment that supports professional growth and client service excellence.
Requirements

- At least 2 years of experience as a patent agent in biotechnology.
- Advanced degree (Ph.D. preferred) in biological sciences, e.g., molecular biology, cell biology, microbiology, immunology, genetics, etc. Superior academic credentials.
- Experience in preparing and prosecuting patent applications relating to biologics or other large-molecule technologies.
- Experience in conducting searches and analyses for freedom-to-operate, IP due diligence, infringement, validity, and patent landscape assessments.
- Registration to practice before the USPTO in good standing.
- Prior law firm experience preferred.
- Excellent analytical, writing, communication, and organizational skills.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- A collaborative approach, sound judgment, and a commitment to exceptional client service.
