Build and Lead a Growing Contents Restoration Division
PuroClean of Burlington is looking for an experienced Contents Restoration Project Manager to take ownership of our contents restoration operation.
This is not simply a cleaning supervisor position.
We are looking for someone who can manage contents restoration projects from the initial inspection and pack-out through inventory, cleaning, storage, insurance documentation and final pack-back.
The right person will combine restoration experience, project management, customer service, organization and leadership. You will work directly with property owners, insurance professionals, technicians, vendors and company leadership while helping us continue to build and expand our Contents Division.
For the right candidate, this position offers the opportunity to grow beyond individual project management and into broader Contents Division leadership as the department expands.
What You’ll Be Responsible For
Project Management
- Manage residential and commercial contents restoration projects from initial assignment through completion.
- Perform or participate in initial contents inspections and project planning.
- Establish the pack-out, cleaning, storage and pack-back strategy for each project.
- Develop project scopes, schedules, labor requirements and production plans.
- Coordinate multiple active projects while maintaining clear priorities and deadlines.
- Identify project changes, additional services and potential scope issues before they become problems.
- Maintain consistent communication with customers throughout the restoration process.
Pack-Outs, Inventory & Documentation
- Oversee professional pack-outs and pack-backs of customer belongings.
- Ensure contents are photographed, inventoried, labeled and tracked accurately.
- Maintain chain of custody and accountability for customer property from pickup through final return.
- Separate and document cleanable, questionable and non-salvageable contents.
- Work with customers and insurance representatives regarding cleaning decisions, replacement considerations and non-salvageable items.
- Ensure photographs, inventories, work authorizations, job notes and supporting documentation are complete and accurate.
- Maintain organized digital project files and documentation.
Contents Cleaning & Restoration
Oversee the proper processing of items including:
- Furniture
- Hard contents
- Clothing and textiles
- Electronics
- Appliances
- Artwork and decorative items
- Household goods
- Specialty and high-value contents
Coordinate appropriate cleaning methods including:
- Hand cleaning
- Ultrasonic cleaning
- Deodorization
- HEPA cleaning
- Smoke and soot removal
- Textile restoration
- Specialty vendor restoration
Determine when specialty vendors or outside restoration resources should be used.
Customer & Insurance Communication
- Serve as a primary point of contact for customers during the contents restoration process.
- Explain the contents restoration process, expectations and timelines clearly.
- Communicate professionally with insurance adjusters, agents and other claim stakeholders.
- Provide documentation necessary to support the services performed.
- Assist with estimating, supplements and scope discussions when necessary.
- Help resolve customer or insurance questions before they delay the project.
Estimating & Financial Performance
- Prepare or assist in preparing contents restoration estimates using industry-standard estimating practices and software.
- Review project scope against actual work performed.
- Identify missed billable services and legitimate supplemental items.
- Monitor labor, materials, subcontractors, storage and project costs.
- Help ensure projects are properly documented, invoiced and financially closed.
- Maintain awareness of project gross margin and department profitability.
- Help management identify opportunities to improve productivity and profitability.
Team Leadership
- Lead, schedule and coordinate Contents Technicians.
- Establish daily production priorities.
- Train employees in proper packing, inventory, cleaning, handling and documentation procedures.
- Maintain high standards for productivity, workmanship and professionalism.
- Perform quality-control inspections throughout each project.
- Hold team members accountable for documentation, organization and customer service.
- Assist with recruiting, onboarding and developing additional contents personnel as the division grows.
Warehouse & Storage Management
- Maintain an organized contents processing and storage operation.
- Ensure customer belongings remain properly labeled and separated.
- Maintain organized vaulting, shelving and storage systems.
- Coordinate incoming pack-outs and outgoing pack-backs.
- Maintain appropriate cleaning equipment, materials and supplies.
- Help improve warehouse workflows as contents volume increases.

You should be someone who:
- Takes ownership without needing constant direction.
- Notices problems before someone else has to point them out.
- Can organize a complicated loss and turn it into a workable plan.
- Understands that customers’ belongings require both careful handling and accurate documentation.
- Can lead technicians while still being willing to step into the field when necessary.
- Communicates confidently with homeowners, adjusters and insurance professionals.
- Understands that good production and good documentation are equally important.
- Pays attention to revenue, costs and profitability instead of treating every project as simply another work order.
- Wants responsibility and the opportunity to build something.
This Is a Management Role, But It Is Still Restoration
This position involves both office/project-management responsibilities and field involvement.
You will visit loss sites, inspect contents, oversee crews, interact with customers, work inside damaged properties and periodically assist with contents handling when circumstances require it.
Candidates should be comfortable working around properties affected by fire, smoke, water, mold and other property damage.
The position may occasionally require lifting or assisting with items weighing approximately 50–75 pounds.
Emergency restoration does not always operate between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM. Some schedule flexibility may occasionally be required based on customer and project needs.
Compensation
Base Salary: $65,000–$75,000 annually, depending on restoration experience and demonstrated ability.
Additional performance-based compensation may be available based on individual and division performance.
Additional benefits and employment details will be discussed during the interview process.
Career Growth
Our goal is not simply to hire someone to manage today’s contents projects.
We are building a larger restoration company and expanding our contents capabilities.
A successful person in this position can grow with the operation as project volume, staffing and revenue increase, with the potential to advance into a broader Contents Division Manager leadership position.
If you have experience in contents restoration and are ready to take greater ownership of projects, people and results, we want to hear from you.
