Overview
The Senior Capital Campaign Manager provides strategic and operational leadership for IINE’s Lowell capital campaign, Built to Belong, supporting the organization’s permanent community hub at 585 Middlesex Street in Lowell. The role owns day-to-day campaign execution and serves as the central driver of campaign strategy, project management, prospect coordination, donor communications, volunteer and board engagement, performance reporting, and cross-departmental accountability. The Senior Manager helps translate campaign goals into coordinated action, supports senior leaders and frontline fundraisers in advancing principal and major gift prospects, and ensures the campaign progresses from quiet phase activity through public launch, completion, recognition, and stewardship.
Reporting to the Senior Director of Principal with a dotted line to the Chief Advancement Officer, Major Gift Officers, Advancement Operations, Communications, Finance, Facilities, Lowell site leadership, executive leadership, campaign volunteers, and board members, the Senior Capital Campaign Manager is a senior individual contributor who brings sound fundraising judgment, disciplined execution, and initiative to complex campaign activity. The role is expected to anticipate needs, resolve barriers, recommend course corrections, and maintain alignment among fundraising strategy, donor engagement, capital project developments, and organizational priorities.

Responsibilities
Campaign Planning and Project Management
• Lead and continuously refine the integrated campaign strategy, workplan, calendar, deadlines, meeting cadence, deliverables, and follow-up systems for the Lowell capital campaign.
• Direct cross-functional campaign activity across Advancement, Lowell site leadership, Finance, Facilities, Communications, Programs, and executive leadership, clarifying owners, dependencies, decisions, and escalation needs.
• Establish and manage the campaign roadmap from quiet phase cultivation through public phase readiness, campaign completion, donor recognition, and long-term stewardship.
• Lead preparation for campaign committee meetings, internal campaign meetings, and executive check-ins, including agendas, decision materials, strategic recommendations, notes, and action tracking.
• Identify risks, barriers, and resource gaps; recommend solutions and course corrections to keep campaign priorities, donor strategy, prospect assignments, and campaign communications on track.
Prospect and Donor Coordination
- Partner with the Chief Advancement Officer, Major Gift Officers, and executive leaders to shape prospect strategy, portfolio assignments, cultivation plans, solicitation timing, ask amounts, and next-step accountability.
- Build and manage a comprehensive campaign pipeline of individual, foundation, corporate, community, and board-connected prospects, with particular attention to principal and major gift opportunities.
- Develop high-quality donor strategies and materials, including executive briefings, proposal and solicitation packages, visit agendas, talking points, gift opportunities, and tailored follow-up correspondence.
- Ensure cultivation, solicitation, pledge, payment, recognition, and stewardship activity is accurately documented in Salesforce in partnership with Advancement Operations; use data to drive next actions and leadership decisions.
- Drive timely and strategic follow-up after donor meetings, tours, campaign events, site visits, and volunteer or board introductions, ensuring clear ownership and momentum.
Campaign Communications and Collateral
- Lead campaign messaging and collateral development in partnership with Communications and Advancement staff, ensuring materials are accurate, persuasive, audience-specific, and aligned with the Built to Belong case for support.
- Oversee the development and refresh of campaign collateral, donor packets, presentations, gift charts, naming and recognition materials, proposals, and impact language.
- Prepare concise, executive-level updates and recommendations for the board, campaign committee, senior leadership, volunteers, and donors that clearly communicate campaign vision, project scope, funding priorities, progress, risks, and donor impact.
- Ensure campaign materials reflect current project information, approved messaging, confidentiality standards, and donor stewardship needs.
Campaign Operations, Data, and Reporting
- Own campaign dashboards, forecasts, tracking tools, pledge reports, prospect lists, gift charts, and activity reports; translate results into actionable insights for Advancement and executive leadership.
- Analyze progress against campaign goals and benchmarks, identify pipeline and revenue gaps, and recommend strategies to strengthen prospect coverage, solicitations, donor follow-up, stewardship, and reporting.
- Coordinate with Finance and Advancement Operations to track gifts, pledges, payment schedules, restrictions, recognition commitments, and reporting needs.
- Support data quality in Salesforce, including campaign coding, proposal status, meeting notes, stewardship actions, and prospect movement.
- Present regular campaign updates, forecasts, risks, and recommended actions to internal leadership, campaign volunteers, working groups, and board committees.
Events, Tours, and Volunteer Engagement
- Lead the strategy and execution of campaign-related tours, cultivation events, receptions, donor briefings, and community engagement opportunities in Lowell.
- Partner with Lowell site staff to plan meaningful site visits that are respectful of client privacy, program needs, and operational schedules.
- Equip and coach campaign volunteers, board members, and organizational leaders with prospect strategy, preparation materials, call lists, briefings, talking points, and follow-up plans.
- Coordinate recognition and stewardship opportunities for donors, volunteers, community partners, and campaign supporters.
Required Skills/Abilities
- Advanced project and campaign management skills, including the ability to lead complex, interdependent work streams; set priorities; manage deadlines; and hold multiple stakeholders accountable for decisions and follow-through.
- Exceptional written, verbal, and presentation skills, with demonstrated ability to produce persuasive donor communications and concise executive- and board-level materials.
- Ability to manage confidential donor, prospect, financial, and organizational information with discretion.
- Strong analytical ability and attention to detail, with skill in campaign forecasting, pipeline analysis, pledge tracking, donor follow-up, and project status reporting.
- Facility with CRM systems, spreadsheets, dashboards, project trackers, and Microsoft Office or Microsoft 365 tools.
- Ability to work collaboratively with fundraisers, executive leaders, board members, volunteers, program staff, finance staff, and communications staff.
- Senior-level judgment, initiative, diplomacy, and discretion, with the ability to anticipate needs, navigate ambiguity, influence without direct authority, and prioritize in a fast-moving fundraising environment.

Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience required.
- Seven or more years of progressively responsible experience in nonprofit development, capital or comprehensive campaign management, major gifts, advancement operations, donor relations, or a closely related field preferred.
- Demonstrated experience leading or managing significant components of a capital or comprehensive campaign, major gifts initiative, board or volunteer campaign committee, or complex fundraising program strongly preferred.
- Experience using Salesforce, Raiser’s Edge, Blackbaud, EveryAction, DonorPerfect, or another donor database preferred.
- Experience working directly with senior executives, board members, campaign volunteers, major donors, and external partners preferred.
- Demonstrated experience developing donor strategies and materials, campaign forecasts and reports, executive briefings, gift tracking tools, and board-level summaries preferred.
- Familiarity with Lowell and the greater Merrimack Valley fundraising environment
- Understanding of Greater Boston, human services, immigrant and refugee services, community development, or capital project fundraising is a plus.
Work Environment Conditions
- Standard office environment with hybrid work expectations and regular use of a computer, phone, video conferencing, CRM, and Microsoft 365 tools.
- Frequent coordination with staff based in Lowell and frequent work from IINE’s Lowell location at 585 Middlesex Street.
- Occasional evening or weekend availability may be required for donor meetings, site tours, committee meetings, receptions, and campaign events.
- May require local travel among IINE offices, donor meeting locations, community partner sites, and campaign event locations.
- Work requires handling confidential donor, prospect, campaign, and organizational information with discretion.
Physical Demands
- Ability to remain stationary for extended periods while using a computer and managing campaign materials.
- Ability to communicate effectively by phone, video, email, and in person.
- Ability to move through office, event, and site-tour environments, including occasional walking or standing during donor visits and events.
- Ability to occasionally move meeting or event materials, generally up to 10-15 pounds.
