Working as a Radiologic Technologist in Urgent Care offers a dynamic environment with greater patient interaction and the chance to expand your skill set beyond just performing x-rays. In this fast-paced setting, rad-techs often engage directly with patients, explaining procedures, addressing concerns, and providing comfort during stressful moments. This enhanced interaction fosters strong communication skills and empathy. Ultimately, working in urgent care allows rad-techs to make a significant impact on patient care while continuously growing and diversifying their skill set.

Performs diagnostic radiographic procedures for radiological diagnosis, in a timely fashion, while demonstrating the appropriate knowledge and skills necessary to work with patients from pediatric through geriatric. Follows physician's instructions, prepares and operates equipment and positions patients correctly in order to record the requested diagnostic images. Treats patients with care and respect.

  • Basic Life Support certification, required.
  • Requires ability to maneuver equipment and improvise positions when the condition of the patient does not permit routine positioning.
  • Requires active status as a Registered Technologist - Radiography, RT(R), through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or a recent graduate of an approved training program in Radiologic Technology (board eligible). If board eligible, must obtain credential in Radiography within 6 months of hire.
  • Requires current Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH) license as Radiologic Technologist or a current ISDH Radiology Student Permit.
