As a Regional Fleet Expert, you will be the central point of contact and knowledge for the vehicles in your area. This role is key to optimizing fleet performance, reducing repair costs, and standardizing damage management:
- By documenting and centralizing the information about mechanical, body, and electrical issues you will promote regional and local autonomy in van repairs.
- You will own the development, implementation, and monitoring of SOPs for damage identification and assessment, repair approvals.
- You will spread the van knowledge across the organization, creating lost lasting impact in customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.
- Based in Sydney/Melbourne, you will report to the Asset Strategy Director and collaborate with Regional Directors, Depot Managers, and Regional and Local teams.
- Develop and refine comprehensive damage trees and RV manuals for all relevant stakeholders: customers, local teams in contact with the customer, and technical troubleshooting for depot and customer support agents.
- Act as the regional authority on troubleshooting, delivering specialized training to mechanics and repair technicians and resolving escalated technical tickets.
- Serve as an On-Trip Support Expert, providing critical real-time assistance and technical guidance to customers during their rentals.
- Manage the validation and approval of non-standard repair quotes and complex maintenance estimates.
- Build and deploy guidelines that increase regional and local autonomy in van repairs.
- Deliver training sessions to Asset Specialists and local teams to improve repair assessment capabilities.
- Ensure accurate and timely reporting of repair decisions and costs across systems and stakeholders.
- Monitor and improve cost efficiency by standardizing repair assessment and approval criteria.
- Drive change management initiatives and address resistance to new repair processes at the regional level.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
- 2-4 years of experience as cost estimator or quote approval for mechanical, body repair, or electrical issues.
- In-depth knowledge of vehicle mechanics, including how cars and vans operate.
- Understanding of market standards for vehicle repairs and maintenance.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess repair costs and optimize decision-making.
- Resilience and ability to handle stakeholder pushback, particularly in cost-related discussions.
- Fluent in English (mandatory)
