Responsibilities

  • Partner with the Special Education Vice Principal to analyze teacher and student data, identifying trends and providing targeted coaching and support in areas of greatest need 
  • Support the maintenance of 100% compliance by assisting with meeting scheduling, documentation, and coordination with internal and external stakeholders
  • Provide clear, actionable feedback on IEPs and progress reports to ensure high-quality, compliant, and student-centered documentation 
  • Support professional development for special education teachers on all aspects of the IEP process, building clarity, consistency, and strong instructional alignment 
  • Provide data-driven individual and small group instruction in reading and math, aligned to student needs and IEP goals
  • Use a range of assessment data (e.g., Achievement Network, DIBELS, iReady) to group students, plan instruction, and monitor progress
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers to design and implement targeted growth plans that accelerate student achievement
  • Build strong, consistent relationships with students to create a foundation for both academic success and social-emotional growth
  • Partner with grade-level teams, interventionists, and special education staff to ensure students receive coherent and aligned support across classrooms.
  • Participate in student support meetings and instructional problem-solving routines grounded in evidence and urgency.
  • Build strong relationships with students and contribute to an inclusive, structured environment where students feel affirmed and challenged.
  • Communicate consistently with families, providing transparency into progress, needs, and instructional priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Bachelor's Degree (in any field); Majors or minors in Special Education are preferred
  • Teacher Certification (lapsed certifications are okay) or enrollment in an alternative certification program (e.g., Teach For America, Capital Teaching Residency, City Teaching Alliance, etc.)
  • Experience with reviewing, writing, and implementing IEPs is preferred.

Salary Range: $72,616 - $90,687 (commensurate with 1-10 years of experience)
