The Development Assistant supports the prospecting of foundation and government grant opportunities, while utilizing past skills in data management for support.The Development Assistant is responsible for development data and file organizing, grant prospecting, and other development-related duties, such as grant writing.

Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Prospect for foundation and government funding opportunities on subscription-based philanthropic databases as well as other online searches
- →Provide support in determining best alignment between Advocates and the funder based on funding priorities
- →Create one-pagers of new, potential funding sources
- →Translate foundation data and funding opportunities on websites and fundraising databases to the Raiser’s Edge CRM as needed
- →Update and support in organizing funder data in Raiser’s Edge and in development server folders
- →Support project management tasks, including documentation, timeline tracking, and team coordination.
Requirements
~1 min read- High School Diploma or GED required. Enrollment in undergraduate or graduate level coursework in computer science, data analysis, public health, social work, or a related field preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- Desire to learn how to utilize CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce, Raiser’s Edge) for fundraising
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
- Adhere to all principles related to the Advocates Way
- Perform all duties in accordance with the agency’s policies and procedures
