The National Executive Vice President, Youth Engagement, leads a centralized, nationwide team of strategists, managers, fundraisers, and other professionals with a mandate to accelerate growth and develop new ways to engage young people with the Association through Kids Heart Challenge and beyond. Manages the Association’s Youth Engagement portfolio from strategy to execution – overseeing the development of youth fundraising programs, campaigns, and initiatives to further the Association’s mission, as well as the implementers responsible for executing those strategies in the field. Responsible for developing, modifying, and improving fundraising programs, technology, communications, training, and analysis to improve implementation and integration. Applies best practices, business modeling, and marketing strategies to increase revenue and engagement. The individual will create and foster a culture and climate that results in highly motivated and fully engaged volunteers and staff, able to do what they do best to successfully achieve the goals of the American Heart Association, and make the Association an employer and volunteer destination of choice.

Responsibilities
~2 min read- →Leads the Youth Engagement business unit, responsible for achieving its annual revenue goals and generating surplus to fund the mission of the American Heart Association.
- →Directs a large team of experienced professionals, fundraisers, and managers responsible for the development and execution of fundraising programs to drive substantial revenue for the organization.
- →Develops and implements new strategies to expand revenue and youth engagement.
- →Leads, plans, tracks, and optimizes all phases of the Youth Engagement campaign cycle, from inception to introduction into the marketplace.
- →Develops and conducts staff and volunteer training to improve effectiveness for the organization's Youth Engagement programs, sponsorships, products, and/or services.
- →Manages the collaboration and integration of cross-functional subject matter experts into strategy sessions, training, and consulting services.
- →Responsible for establishing, developing, evaluating, and managing the infrastructure and talent necessary to consistently achieve revenue goals and systematically strengthen the business unit’s overall fundraising capacity. Sets objectives for managers, who then develop and implement operational plans for their teams.
- →Recruits volunteer leadership with the skills and contacts to recruit and engage influential volunteer leaders to support the Association’s mission. Facilitates customized volunteer engagement opportunities that align with donors' interests, skills, and availability.
- →Builds a shared understanding among volunteers and staff of the Association’s strategic priorities and execution plans; creates focus and helps everyone understand their role in achieving our goals. Balances strategic big-picture focus with excellent day-to-day execution.
- →Works with staff leadership to build and maintain a high-performing team committed to understanding and achieving the Association's goals. Creates a pipeline of staff ready for their next role within the Association and fully engages a workforce that reflects the population they represent and serve. Emphasizes the Association staff’s career journey, including their role in managing the region’s talent review process.
- →Serves and fully participates as a member of the Association's Executive Impact Team – Field, balancing the needs of Youth Engagement with overall organizational needs.
Requirements
~1 min read- Twelve (12) to Sixteen (16) years of experience.
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience.
- Successful experience managing and leading a large, dynamic staff and volunteer team to achieve goals.
- Non-Profit management experience, preferably with the American Heart Association.
- Demonstrated sustained fundraising growth.
- Demonstrated ability to recruit & lead a successful volunteer & staff team.
- Ability to think strategically, analyze market data, identify key trends, and develop plans.
- Ability to travel up to 60% nationally, including overnight stays.
