The Region Executive Vice President (EVP) serves as the Chief Staff Executive for two regions, with complete accountability for all aspects of health impact, revenue, and operations, including ensuring that financial and health goals are achieved and strategic priorities are aligned with the Association’s mission and impact goal. The individual will create and foster a culture and climate that results in highly motivated and fully engaged volunteers and staff, able to do what they do best to successfully achieve the goals of the American Heart Association, and make the Association an employer and volunteer destination of choice.

• →Leads two regions in achieving their annual revenue goals and generating surplus to fund the mission of the American Heart Association, including the region budget. Maintains the region’s financial health and stability.
• →Oversees the annual planning for the regions, ensuring the success of all revenue and health impact initiatives, cause campaigns, and communications and marketing strategies to help us achieve our Impact Goal.
• →Recruits Region volunteer leadership with the skills and contacts to recruit and engage influential volunteer leaders to support the Association’s mission – including timely event chair and Executive Leadership Team (ELT) recruitment to successfully support region, market, and event goals.
• →Builds strong Region and Metro Boards that are representative of the communities they serve.
• →Creates a pipeline of national volunteers through recruiting and cultivating prospects on boards, executive leadership teams, and other volunteer groups who have the potential to become national-level leadership volunteers.
• →Personally manages a portfolio of major gift and corporate relations prospects and donors, including cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of individuals, companies, and foundations. Collaborates with region volunteers and staff to build and grow relationships with the Region’s top customers.
• →Builds a shared understanding among volunteers and staff of the Association’s strategic priorities and execution plans; creates focus and helps everyone understand their role in achieving our goals. Balances strategic big-picture focus with excellent day-to-day execution. 
• →Works with regional staff leadership to build and maintain a high-performing staff team committed to understanding and achieving the Association's goals. Creates a pipeline of staff ready for their next role within the Association and fully engages a workforce that reflects the population they represent and serve. Emphasizes the Association staff’s career journey, including their role in managing the region’s talent review process.
• →Ensures that operational aspects of the Region run smoothly, including budget management and adherence to the Association’s fiscal standards and policies.
• →Serves and fully participates as a member of the Association's Executive Impact Team – Field, balancing the needs of the individual region with overall organizational needs, with a focus on helping to ensure the success of the nationwide organization.

• Twelve (12) to Sixteen (16) years of experience, including managing and leading a region within the American Heart Association.
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience.
• Successful experience managing and leading a large, dynamic staff and volunteer team to achieve goals.
• Demonstrated ability in recruiting, leading, and managing a dynamic, influential Board of Directors.
• Demonstrated sustained fundraising growth.
• Demonstrated ability to recruit & lead a successful volunteer & staff team.
• Ability to think strategically, analyze market data, identify key trends, and develop plans.
• Ability to travel up to 60% within the region and nationally, including overnight stays.
