The International Organization for Migration (IOM), the United Nations Migration Agency, is the leading intergovernmental organization in the field of migration and works closely with governmental, intergovernmental, and non‑governmental partners. IOM promotes the orderly and humane management of migration, advances international cooperation on migration issues, supports practical solutions to emerging challenges, and provides humanitarian assistance to migrants in need, including internally displaced person.

1. Assist in the implementation and monitoring of project activities.
2. ​Retrieve, compile, summarize, analyse, and present information/data on specific project topics.
3. ​Monitor budget by verifying availability of funds, obtaining necessary approval and updating budget-related information.
4. ​Act as focal point for administrative coordination of project implementation, involving extensive liaison with diverse organisational units and external parties to initiate requests, obtain necessary clearances, process and follow-up on administrative actions, etc.
5. ​Draft status reports, identify shortfalls, escalate issues to the supervisor and suggest remedial actions to address delivery gaps.
6. ​Draft correspondence on project issues; prepare and update reports, briefing notes, graphics, statistical tables, presentation and other forms of documentation.
7. ​Respond to complex information requests and inquiries, set up and maintain files/records, and organise meetings, workshops and training sessions.
8. ​Participate in meetings and conferences to assist in coordinating implementation activities with local authorities, partners, United Nation (UN) agencies, intergovernmental and non-governmental organizations, donors and other stakeholders relevant to the project.
9. ​Assist in monitoring work of Implementing Partners (IP) and report non-compliances to the supervisor.
10. ​Provides guidance/training to new/junior staff.
11. ​Perform such other relevant duties as maybe assigned.

• ​​Bachelor’s degree in Political Science, Social Science, International Relations, Development Studies, Migration Studies, Human Rights, Law or a related field from an accredited academic institution with three years of relevant professional experience; or,
• ​High School diploma with five years of relevant professional experience.

Accredited Universities are those listed in the UNESCO World Higher Education Database.

• Experience in Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) projects or Non-Food Item (NFI) distribution.
• Experience in field activity monitoring, data collection, and beneficiary follow-up.
• Experience coordinating with communities, implementing partners, and local authorities.
• Experience in database management, report writing, and indicator tracking.
• Previous experience working with IOM, the United Nations, or other international humanitarian organizations, with knowledge of humanitarian principles, operational procedures, and coordination mechanisms.
• Experience contributing to the preparation of narrative and financial reports for donors, supporting donor reporting processes, proposal development, and project cycle management, ensuring compliance with reporting requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
• Experience coordinating with implementing partners, local authorities, and community-based organizations to support the implementation of humanitarian programmes and ensure effective operational coordination.
• Experience using monitoring tools and information management systems, as well as knowledge of the Venezuelan context, particularly border areas and human mobility dynamics, to support project implementation and informed decision-making.

All IOM staff members in all categories are required to be fluent in one of the IOM's official languages (English, French, Spanish).

For this position,  fluency in spanish is required (oral and written).

This selection process may be used to staff similar positions in various duty stations. Recommended candidates will remain eligible to be appointed in a similar position for a period of 24 months.
