The Senior Platform Security Engineer supports ION Markets’ security strategy by designing and operating security controls, detections, and automated response capabilities across platforms and infrastructure.

This is a hands‑on, engineering‑led role with a strong focus on detection engineering, security automation, and real‑world attacker behaviors, prioritizing scalable solutions over manual SOC processes.

Design, operate, and improve security controls, detections, and automated response workflows across cloud and enterprise environments

Build high‑fidelity detections and response automation using platforms such as Rapid7, SentinelOne, CrowdStrike, and Azure Logic Apps

Lead incident response activities, including investigation, containment, remediation, and zero‑day threats

Own vulnerability management from identification through remediation and verification

Improve logging, monitoring, and visibility to enhance detection and response effectiveness

Develop and maintain incident response runbooks and escalation processes

Work closely with infrastructure, network, and product teams to resolve security issues and reduce operational risk

Support regulatory and audit requirements (e.g. NIS2, ISO 27001) from a technical and operational perspective

Fluency in Italian and English (C1)

Academic background in a technology-related field and/or relevant working experience.

Highly desired certifications including Security+, CEH, GCIH up to ~7 years' experience in Information Security with proven hands-on experience in operations roles.
