The Senior Executive – Contract Negotiations, will drive high-quality negotiations and ensuring timely execution of complex agreements across the organization. The role requires strong commercial judgment, the ability to influence senior stakeholders, and expertise across IT, OTT, IP, vendor, and service-based contracts. The individual will also guide standardization efforts, streamline processes, and mentor junior team members.
 
  • Strategic Contract Negotiation: 
  • Lead end-to-end negotiation of high-value, complex commercial contracts including IT, OTT/content, IP/licensing, technology services, vendor partnerships, NDAs, renewals, and amendments.
  • Set negotiation strategy, define fallback positions, and ensure commercially favorable outcomes aligned with business priorities.
  • Provide expert redlining, interpretation of contract terms, balancing commercial needs with risk mitigation.
  • Stakeholder Management:
  • Act as a key advisor to internal stakeholders on contractual positions, risks, and commercial implications.
  • Manage and align multiple internal stakeholders (Legal, Finance, Tech, Procurement, Sales, Content, Operations) to drive quicker decisions and remove roadblocks.
  • Engage directly with external partners, large vendors, agencies, and technology providers at senior levels to lead negotiations and close agreements.
  • Commercial, IP & Risk Analysis:
  • Evaluate commercial terms, SLAs, obligations, liabilities, indemnities, IP rights, usage permissions, ownership structures, and operational feasibility.
  • Leverage strong understanding of IP and content licensing frameworks to guide OTT, digital, and media-related negotiations.
  • Provide commercially sound recommendations and negotiation strategies to leadership.
  • Timelines, Turnarounds & Compliance
  • Ensure strict adherence to internal SLAs, business-critical timelines, and high standards of contracting discipline.
  • Oversee tracking, escalation, and management of all contract stages to ensure timely closures across functions.
  • Maintain compliance frameworks, approval matrices, version controls, and contract documentation standards.
  •   Process Excellence & Standardization:
  • Lead the development and enhancement of standardized contract templates, clause libraries, fallback positions, and negotiation clauses.
  • Drive process improvements to reduce turnaround times and improve cross-functional contracting efficiency.
  • Implement best practices for contract lifecycle management and risk assessment.
  • Team Leadership:
  • Provide guidance, review, and mentorship to junior team members involved in negotiation, and contract analysis.
  • Build team capability through training on contract standards, negotiation techniques, IP concepts, and commercial risk handling.
  • Skills & Competencies:
  • Strong commercial and strategic negotiation expertise with ability to influence senior external partners.
  • Advanced redlining, and risk-assessment skills.
  • Deep understanding of IP rights, OTT/content licensing structures, and IT/technology contracting (preferred).
  • Exceptional stakeholder management with the ability to navigate complex cross-functional scenarios.
  • High attention to detail, strong execution discipline, and ability to manage multiple high-pressure negotiations.
  • Clear communication and ability to present complex matters in a concise, actionable manner.
  • Bachelor’s degree in law, Business, or related field; LLB preferred but not mandatory.
  • 4-6 years of experience in commercial contracting or contract negotiation roles.
  • Experience working in media, OTT/digital, technology, telecom, or IP-led organizations is highly preferred.
  • Proven experience handling high-value, strategic, multi-party negotiations.
